Hook effect

Hi has anyone experienced the hook effect and in really simple terms like u were explaining to a 10 yr old what does this mean. Please thank you.

When you're further along in your pregnancy, or pregnant with multiples, you have high HCG levels. If you were to take a pregnancy test your levels could actually be so high that the pregnancy test would read as negative. So say your 9 weeks or so, take a test and get a negative test, if you were to dilute your wee with water-maybe 50:50 or 90:10 you'd trick the test into thinking your levels of hcg are lower and will then get a positive result. There are some youtube videos that do a really wonderful job of showing this better than what I have explained.
