I read a lot about hormones not being the right level on this forum. Just a little story for you.

About five years ago I was really tired alllll the time. I decided to have my hormones checked through a saliva test. When I got the results back my estrogen was low and my progesterone was really high for the CD I was on when I took the test. One thing the doctor made very clear is to start eating organic as much as possible. Hormones in meat and dairy can effect your hormone levels and throw them way out of wack.

You may want to consider adding organic foods to your diet along with the supplements and medications you are taking.

I have been feeling a lot better since I have done this.

Excellent post! I agree, meat and dairy can wreak havoc on one's system. I think modern food production is pretty bad and we end up eating such crap :/

I eat organic as much as possible, and recently went vegan. Also recently I was diagnosed with low estrogen. This made me wonder about what constitutes "normal," and whether normal correlates with "healthy."

I mean, if the standard american diet (I'm in the US) is as bad as the experts say, then surely the "normal" values aren't the optimal values?

Food for thought!

Just been diagnosed with large (5cm) haemorrhagic cyst so today have switched my diet to no caffeine, low fat, no red meat/little dairy in an effort to reduce it naturally. Being scanned in 6 weeks so I'll see if there's any change. Fingers crossed

I was diagnosed with anemia (lack of iron) and apprently the reason is that i do not eat enough red meat. I do not do it on purpose I am just not into meat that much, once a week is more than enough for me but apprently not enough for my body. now i have to supplement. I am not sure that excluding certain products entirely from your diet is a way forward (unless you are alergic or smth). going organic is certainly a good idea if you can afford it.

Red meat does have a lot of iron, but so do beans and dark, leafy greens. Without all the saturated fat. Vitamin C also helps the body absorb non animal sources of iron.

Thank you. I started taking liquid iron with my grapefruit juice. I cant really eat so much red meat anyway

That's great! Are you going to have your iron retested at some point?

I think it will probably take a couple of months to get my levels up, then I should definitely do another test to see if it's working
