Last night I ended up visiting the triage unit at my hospital as my baby had barely moved from lunchtime. I have gestational diabetes so I am watching carefully for movements as I am fast approaching my due date!
I was hooked up to a monitor and had a ctg. Baby heart rate was fine, not lots if movements but she did move and her heart rate reacted accordingly.
Dr came in to talk to me and brought in the portable scanning machine. She was scanning me for a good 10 minutes and baby did not move once. She decided that I needed a Doppler scan today to check blood flow to the placenta to make sure it was still working efficiently.
It is now nearly 2.40 pm the next day and I still haven't heard anything.
I phoned an hour ago to chase it up but was passed from pillar to post through various departments to be asked for my phone number and they will phone me back!
Baby has moved a bit today but not loads but they don't seem concerned. Looking unlikely that I will be given a scan today and it wont be until Monday, if they actually give me one. The midwife I spoke to said they may reject the request as I did have a scan on Tuesday but the baby did not move on that scan either! Seems nobody is willing to give a rats arse!

I would go straight to ER or hospital. I mean it could be you can't feel baby but not worth the risk. Did they check umbilical cord flow for baby?? So many factors to look At and check. Better safe then sorry. Hope all is ok

Its the NHS for u hun, I've just been up the hospital for a review on my GD and I need to have a growth scan next week, when I went to book my scan the woman said they had no appointments for next week so she's put me down for a review and when I go up next Friday I got to the them I need a scan, I just hope for there own sakes that they don't turn me down next Friday because I will hit the roof

I think NHS is getting worse hun so many cuts have been made and its messing everything up, if I was you I'd keep ringing I wouldn't give up

If I don't hear anything I will just keep going in. The thing is I don't want to end up being induced at 36 weeks if there isn't a problem but if there is surely it is better to deal with the situation asap rather than risk it ending up in a catastrophic tragedy and them having the arse sued off them. So annoyed that they think that they are able to override the Drs request!

The NHS is overstretched and totally under funded. It is an absolute disgrace that something so important has been left to rot and be systematically abused by anyone around the world but that is a whole different can of worms!

I'm so sorry! I would definitely call today and follow up, and insist on coming back in. The Doctor told you to get another one today, right? So I'd tell them that.

Theres too many people who come and abuse the system yet us British are left to suffer, my FIL has an enlarged prostate and the hospital have told him it will take 4 months for him to see a specialist he's in pain and having constant water infections due to his prostate
