Its diff where you live. Ask your midwife as here they do a thing where if your birth went straight forward you can be home within 6hours after.
Also depends on what time you have baby, here if you have baby in between visting times which is 10am-8pm then OH can stay otherwise he has to go home & come back between then.
I love the stay in the hospital, gave me a break from home. I had my daughter Thurs night & was out Saturday morning.
