Since 19 weeks I have had trouble sleeping and it's just getting worse. I have M.E meaning I get tired easily and need a lot of sleep. I am going to sleep at the moment between 10pm and midnight but I wake up every half an hour! :nope: When I eventually give up in the morning I'm easily upset and irritable all day and it's not nice for everyone around me. I've tried every pillow combination but it doesn't help.

How are you sleeping?
Does anyone have any advice?

Awww hope u get some sleep soon

I don't sleep either I wake every hour or so I find sleeping on left side but bait on my belly too but as bum grows is getting more difficult to get comfy :(

Hugs Hun

I have the same problem. I actually cried this week complaining at my OH on how tired I am. What keeps you awake? Is your body uncomfortable or do you think that your bloodsugar dropped?

I know how you feel. I barely slept for a week as I was trying to sleep on my side, but the pain in my hips kept waking me up. The past two nights I have slept propped upon my back on lots of pillows and it has really helped. Try a bath before bed to get your brain to stop whizzing and try to nap when you can.

I'm just so uncomfortable! Sometimes when I wake in the night half my body is just asleep, other times I'm sleeping funny on my arm and it's hurting, sometimes I just wake up seemingly for no reason :dohh: I cry as well, it's making everyone think I'm just 'hormonal' but I'm not, I'm knackered!

Im second trimester and Im sleeping pretty well, except i do find myself having to get up a lot more now so i can go to the bathroom to pee.

I pretty much didn't sleep until I got my U Comfort maternity pillow about 3 weeks ago. I can't believe I ever managed without it! Worth every penny :)

I was thinking of getting a maternity pillow Lulu, was looking at the long ones that curve near the end?
I don't know which one is best!

i haven't been sleeping either for the last few weeks so can really sympathise. I'm like a walking zombie :-(

I'm not sleeping very well either, watching every hour. Its the same for me I just can't get comfortable xx

i cant sleep either and its not because im uncomfy either. It takes me ages to get to sleep and then when i do i wake up every half an hour, going to speak to midwife about it x

If you can, try & get one of the maternity pillows...i have one of the straight ones, it has no curves in it and is about 4ft tall. Its brilliant because I can mould it to how i want, I usually sleep with part of it in between my knees then I rest my belly on the rest and hug the top

Of course I wake up through the night, but defo not as much as i did when i didnt use the pillow.

The downside is my OH gets a whack around the head every now and then through the night (not on purpose!)

I can't sleep either, and it's because of one thing - Heartburn! Last night I got maybe 2 hours of decent sleep. :(

Awww, can I join the club? Here is my advise.
1. If you can, start your nap in a sitting position, i.e. in an ez chair or rocking chair. Do not watch TV or use the computer for atleast 1/2 hour before bedtime.
2. Try something repetitive, like knitting or embroidery before you sleep.
3. Visit the loo, right before you go to bed and stay there with a good book for 5 minutes.
4. Lie on your back, then roll to the side you feel will be more comfortable. Switch sides if your hip, jaw and ear hurt to relax them.
4. Jog your feet it the air when you lie down if your feet hurt to stretch the muscles.
5. Drink a warm glass of milk (with or without cocoa as you wish) before you sleep.
6. If you feel overwhelmed, strip naked; it will help. Sit up and practise breathing till you feel relaxed.
7. If you have acidity, have your medication regularly to avoid restlesness.

I also suffer from sleepless nights and these tips will help maybe 10%, but you should try.

I'm looking into it  So glad I'm not alone in this!

BABYDUST please let us know what your midwife says!

im not getting much sleep either. everytime I get comfy i need to pee. i am bloody SICK of peeing! once i do get to sleep, i wake up to pee. or because my ear is squashed or something ridiculous like that. i think baby is a bit of a night owl and is up all night partying away in my stomach, and because im such a light sleeper, all her moving wakes me up. i am shattered! xx
