how big was you bean at 6 weeks

I've had my scan today at which i should be 6 weeks according to dates. The midwife seemed to think it was measuring smaller than it should, It was 3.5 mm and she said it should have been between 5-6mm. Although she did say not to be too concerned as if the dates were slightly wrong it can make the difference of mm's. So i was just curious, how big did all yours measure? I am having another scan in 2 weeks to check it out again, i though the worry may have calmed a little but oh no..........xxxxxxxxx

Hi, I had a scan at 6+1 & measured 4mm with HB.

At 6+1 mine measured 4mm. The sonogram didn't say anything about the size just said that everything looked good. I wouldn't worry about the size so long as there was a bean abd heartbet. X

hi my bean measured 4.1mm at 6w3d - you sound normal for 6 weeks or *just* under which i'm sure is totally fine x

I was 4.2mm at 7 weeks, re-dated to 6w+1d but think he couldn't get a good measurement because I was then 32.2mm at 9 weeks and put forward to 10 weeks - babies do grow at different rates and its difficult to measure crown to rump so early - you sound fine hun xx

My baby was 3.6mm at 6 weeks with a lovely little heartbeat. It's now 70mm but your measurement sounds fine Hun xx

Wow, after reading these measurements i am concerned i am having an elephant.... mine was 4.7mm at 6 weeks exactly! Which on my report i was put at exactly 6 weeks. Just to reasure you that at such an early stage measurements can be out by 5 days +/- and that is acceptable. Scas are subjective, each sonographer will get a differnet measurement everytime especially so early. Depends if baby is more curled up, angle of scan etc etc. It is such small measurements even a slight error can mean difference of days! I had anotehr scan at 6w6days due to spotting and they put me as 6w3days! i was concerned that growth was slowing as i was certain of dates, but then at 8 week scan they put me 2 days ahead at 8w2d... so it can all change..... too many variables as long as their is good growth between scans and a nice heartbeat try not to worrk

I thought they dated the pregnancy by the size? First time round baby measured at 7mm at 6w4d and this time at 6 weeks it was 3mm I had another one two weeks later and baby measured 3 days ahead at 2cm!

If she thinks you are measuring behind, she's probably referring to your dates, not babies size! I know from first hand experience that all beans sizes differ from person to person and day to day xx

Thanks for all your replies. Well she did say that if your dates are a few days out it can make a big difference. After thinking about it I suppose it depends on when implantation took place too as i don't know exactly when i ovulated just going off lmp

i had a scan at 7w 2d, my bean was 11mm which i think is around the norm. had a strong hb which was what i was really worried about. have heard that they grow at 1mm per day on average xx

mine meassured 7.65 at 6 weeks 5 days that sounds wrong now im reading everyone elses meassurements xx

oh, hmm, I didn't even think to ask for the size. I was scanned at 6 weeks 3 days and the gestational sac measured as 6 weeks 4 days and the bean was 6 weeks 1 day, whatever that means...

No I don't think it is cos I was told mine was 7mm at 6w 3 days... it seems big in comarison to everyone elses dont it??

Nope sounds ok cookie, i just looked at my next scan and i was about 6w6d if not 6w5d and i was 7mm too, so there or there abouts give or take error by sonographer

hey hun for me at 6+1 baby measured at 4.7mm and at 7+5 baby had grown to 14.55mm x

hi there this is nothing to worry about at my 6 week exactly scan baby only measured 3.7 mm and at my 12 week scan baby was measuring way ahead so dont worry its normal. xx

They grow really quickly at that stage. At 7 weeks mine was 8mm and 2 weeks later she was 22mm.
