How do you know when to start TTC with irregular cycles?

My OH and I have been NTNP recently, and supposed to be officially starting TTC in September, but it all seems kind of pointless as I've not had AF since April. I feel like there is no point in trying if I'm not having AF, then I'm not O'ing. I don't know if I should go to my doc and ask about provera and clomid. I know we haven't even really started yet but if I'm not O'ing naturally then it just seems like a waste of time :( I hate my body sometimes

If you've not had af since April I'd say do go to doctor, I have irregular cycles too but never as long as that, the most has been 8 weeks. You maybe need something to kickstart your cycles. Is there Definitely no way you are already preggo? As for knowing when to ttc because my cycles are irregular I use opks from about cd10 onwards (I buy cheapies off amazon) to give me a better idea of what's going on. Temping is a good idea too if you wanna know for sure if you've ovulated. I don't temp as work shifts so it never really worked out. Plus myhubby hated the beep of the thermometer each morning lol xxx

I have PCOS so irregular cycles are pretty normal for me. I'm definitely not pregnant either as I took a hpt last week just to be sure and got BFN x

I'd call your doctor. I also have PCOS. Our first child was a surprise. . Intentionally but a surprise blessing. After he was stillborn, we tried again as soon as we got the go ahead after about 6 weeks. I was having cycles then. Before that, I wasn't. I had a period in june and got a BFP in October. So I definitely say call!

I was in seeing him about 2 weeks ago, but I might see about provera to kickstart AF. I don't know how long I'd need to be TTC before he would prescribe Clomid x

I know they say if you're younger than 35 you wait a year and if you're over you wait 6 months. For me we've been officially trying since May and I now have a referral to a specialist, seeing I haven't had a period in about 5 years now (I've been off BCP for 10 months but have PCOS). I think if you already have a diagnosis you can just go get a referral. For me, I'm a lot younger than 35 but have the diagnosis and haven't had a period in years. I didn't have to even wait 6 months and my doctor referred me.

I've been taking agnus castus and metformin and I'm losing weight, so I'm going to give it another couple of weeks and see if AF makes an appearance. If not I'll go to the doctor and see about what he can do to help. I'm 30 next month so hope he doesn't make me wait a year x

I am irregular and tried FertilAid for Women and FertileCM. Helps regulate cycles. Pregnant first cycle on it.

I will order FertilAid just now. I'm already taking 1000mg a day of agnus castus, but I'm guessing that I won't need to do that as FertilAid has vitex in it? x

Yeah it does. I tried alsorts of supplements before finding FertilAid, Vitex included. Was put onto it from a fertility specialist.

Ordered from Amazon to arrive tomorrow :) fingers crossed it works x

Started FertilAID and now been on metformin for 3 weeks and Agnus Castus for about 6. Feeling so crampy today all across my tummy and round my back and in the tops of my legs so I'm taking it as a sign that something is working and AF is on her way! Only thing that's casting doubt in my mind is that my boobs aren't sore at all. Aaah all I want is to know what my body is doing!!!

I ovulated on Friday, all by myself! I don't know if it's the FertilAid or the metformin but things seem to working again in there :)
