I've heard it both ways, just wondering how you guys would pronounce it and where you're from incase it differs from country to country

Which do you think is prettier?

In the US it's pronounced Ah-leash-uh... like your 1st option.

I love this name -- the other pronounciations are pretty too -- but i would come up with a different spelling if i wanted it said differently

Aleesia
Alysea
Elysia

For example

Although, people would still probably be confused as to how to pronounce your chosen way...

I've always known it to be pronounced ah-lee-shah, like Alicia keys!

 my dd's name is Alicia! I pronounce it Al - iss- ia, and everyone tells me what beautiful name she has:cloud9:

she's mixed race and I have found a lot of medical staff like Doctors, etc have assumed it's pronounced A - leesh- a.

I always correct them before hand and always say Alicia as in Silverstone (the blonde one from clueless?) not Keys.

fairydreams :flower:

I'd pronounce it Ah-liss-ee-ah but the Alicia I know is pronounced Ah-leese-ee-ah!

I like Ah-liss-ee-ah best, the nickname Lissy is cute! xx

things would be so much easier with names if our language had the little pronounciation squiggles on letter like the french language does! lol

i say a-liss-iah but i know lots of people pronounce is like aleesha, i prefer the way i say it though lol

I would pronounce it Ah-lee-shah. But I think either way is really pretty.

Well the name is said A-lee-sher, but obviously with your spelling it can come across as A-lee-sea-er.
Ignor my er on the end of everything my accent makes me say it that way, in stead of an a.

Oh dear. My name is Alicia. I have heard over the years:

"Ah-lee-sha" (Canada, English version)

"Ah-lick-ee-ah" (The wtf version)
"Ah-liss-ee-ah" (On occasion)
"Ah-liss-ah"
"Ah-leez-ee-ah"
Alice, Alison.

Hope that helps!

But which one is the right one for you? Loving the WTF Ah-lick-ee-ah version by the way, I'm guessing from your description that's not the right one :haha:
