How do your friends feel about babies?

Both my best friends (my whole wedding party) are child-free, and will likely stay that way. They know I want kids, and are sort of supportive, but I definitely don't know how they will take it when I actually do start making babies. Does anyone else have this problem? I find myself wanting to hang out with pregnant ladies and moms more and more, because I can't talk about kids much at all otherwise! Not sure the best ways to integrate my favourite lovely ladies with my baby future - thoughts?

I actually have the opposite problem. Most of my female friends are older than me so they are all having babies and I'm the one still trying to live up the baby-free life while I can. Things will change of course, but I think that it just depends on you. I was able to stay friends with aforementioned women bc they still liked to go to restaurants and have a beer or have superbowl parties at home. I think if they became the "being a mommy is my entire life and everything prior to my pregnancy just pales in comparison" type mother then I would have shyed away from them. I enjoy playing with the babies but I'm also not a mom (yet) and have little interest (at this point) about what playgroup your child is in.

See, I keep trying to convince my one friend that I would still be 'cool', and wouldn't be one of 'those moms', but I guess we will just see as we go. I read a lot of "STFUParents.com" to make sure I don't become a crazy mommy, LOL!

Yea, my friend said the same thing about "staying cool". For the most part it's been true but I have noticed that now when we hang out it almost always at her house. She's hardly ever up for going somewhere. However, her baby is only 2-3 months at this point so I'm trying to cut her some slack. Hopefully she'll do the same for me when it's my turn.
