How long after HCG injection can you trust a +?

If you get an HCG injection - and 15 days later you get a postive HPT - can you trust the result or could it still just be the shot giving a false positive?

i would have thought 15 dpo is a pretty good sign

It can last about 2 weeks hun....leave it another week to get a clear result, you don't want to torture yourself

Ha ha - I did wonder why you were having an HCG shot when you've only recently given birth!!

Some people say it takes up to 10 days to rid your body of the HCG - but I guess it also depends on the does. 15 days is plenty, as with IVF they do the blood test on 16 days after the injection, and quite a few lwadies pick get their BFP a few days earlier.

leilani - yeah - this is her first (and probably only) attempt at ivf. She gets bloodwork in 2 days. I hope this is real for her.

hey there - I tested my last hcg shot out and I had a - hpt 11 days after the shot. I know everyone is a little different, but the standard thought seems to be 10 days to get out. FX for your friend!

I kept testing after myhcg shot to see it leave my system and it was gone after 4 days.

Thanks ladies. I am so so nervous for her. I just know she will be heartbroken if this doesn't work out. They tried naturally for a LONG time and after lots of doctors found out that it was probably never gonna happen without assistance. She wants this so badly. I don't even want to think about it not working for her!
