Just wondering :flower: My LO only seems interested for about 15 minutes but feeds every hour or so, is this normal?

On average my 4 wk old will feed about 13-15 times in 24 hours.

Proper feeds take half an hour, he'll also have some 10-15 min snacks too.

My LO went from feeding for about 40 min to an hour in the hospital every 3-5 hours, then she went to 15-20 minutes every 2-3 hours, and now she's eating 25-45 minuted every 1-3 hours. I dunno....

My dd is on no schedule. Sometimes she goes 2 hours sometimes half hour before wanting to nurse again. Also her actual eating time is 10 minutes or so, sometimes a little less, But a lot of the time she will just stay on sucking, but not really eating, So sometimes it will be a half hour or more. At night once I finally have her settled to sleep, she will wake every 2-3 hours to nurse and stay on about 10 minutes then fall back asleep. My last dd was the same way. It took about 2 months maybe 3 for her to finally stop cluster feeding so much and finally settle into a every 2 hour nursing schedule during the day

Sophie feeds anywhere between 5 and 45 minutes between every 1 and 3 hours during the day and 1-5 hours during the night! There's absolutely no consistency!

Feed every hour or so for 10minutes and not even that long sometimeS.

what a relief im not the only one with NO pattern whatsoever!! x

every 2-3 hours with a 4-5 hour stretch once a night, shes taken to having only one boob a feeding and only takes 5-10minutes ish but ive got a mega fast flow, she often gags and breaks off on my letdown which sends milk flying everywhere but soon gets down to guzzling! :) x

LO feeds around 10 times a day ATM, about every 1.5h in the day (but very variable and usually with 1 or 2 longer naps some time in the day) and then every 3-4h through the night. She feeds for 15-40 min.

This is a vast improvement from 18 times a day last week!! I have tried to wind more thoroughly half way through a feed (and we are using Infacol now) so she can eat more, I also try and keep her awake during the feed so she will finish a feed and so stay full a bit longer!
