How long did your crappy sleeper last?

My 4 month old wakes every 1.5 - 2 hours - she just wants me to put her paci back in, not to actually eat. She turns away when I try and nurse her. When our first was such an awful sleeper, we decided to sleep train around 6 months. I didn't like, and it didn't really work in the long run. I'm not going to do it again. Just wondering how long it takes truly awful sleepers to really sort it out? Experience? Thank you!

My son was an awful sleeper didn't sleep longer than 2 hours at a time until he was 18 months. Totally changed overnight and he started sleeping much longer. I've no advice really because nothing really worked for us xx

We tried a variety of things, but my kid didn't start consistently sleeping well until 20 months. That wasn't always 2 hour chunks, but disrupted sleep in some way until 20 months. He was always a good napper, at least. Sleep training was awful and never stuck, so we won't be doing it this time either. I figured we all survived last time, we will this time too... But hopefully we get a good sleeper ;-)

15 months and still a terrible sleeper. He's gotten better but still not sttn!

15/16 months for my first to STTN, my second is 19 months and still up and down half the night. :coffee:

My 2 month old has slept 6-7 hours a night since about 2 weeks old. We swaddle her and that works well. She also sleeps in our bed And when she gets wiggly in the middle of the night one of us cuddles her close and she falls back into a deep sleep.

We saw an improvement at 16 months when he dropped his night feed, had a regression at 18 months and then started sttn consistently at 21 months.

I'm hoping no2 is a better sleeper. Dd was waking every hour after she'd last gone to sleep until 9 months old and wide awake from 4am. Then she only slept in two hour batches until 18 months old. Then until 2.5 years she woke up 4 to 5 times a night. Now she's nearly three I sometimes (once a fortnight) get a whole night, sometimes it's 4 to 5 times a night but on average she wakes twice a night. She's also just started to sleep until 6am.

If it's because he drops his paci have you tried to wean him off it, maybe replace it with a comforter he can grab himself?
My 3 1/2 month old wakes about twice a night but that's actually really normal so hard as it is I'm not planning on sleep training. I found the gentle sleep book' really helpful with ideas and also ensuring expectations are realistic

Just reading this thread for some ideas... My 9 mo lo wakes up and doesn't want to nurse, I think I may try offering a paci, great ideas

My DD was a bad sleeper (up hourly. Sometimes awake for a few hours randomly, went through stages of taking hours to go to sleep at bedtime). When our 3rd LO was born DD suddenly stared sleeping great, she wakes once a night and sometimes sleeps through! She was 2years 4 months when she started sleeping

LO didn't STTN until he was 20 months xxx

Less than a fortnight off her second birthday and DD doesn't sleep through, and is up very very early :-/ sorry! We've tried nearly every method going too.
