How long do you wind for..

before you decide you aren't gonna get any burpies out and put your lo back down to rest after a feed???

Depends. If he's unsettled ill wind for maybe 10mins or so and then put him down and try again after another 10mins or so. If he's settled or fallen asleep I won't wind at all x

I remember when my son first went to daycare at 3mo old and after the first week the carer came up to me and asked how long it took to burp him. I said "I don't know I've never tried". This poor misguided woman had tried for over an hour and hadn't thought about giving up until that point. My son never needed winding, but can burp just fine whenever he wants to now.

My daughter can geta little fussy if she has trapped wind, but at night I never burp her, we lay facing each other and she feeds when she wants to and we both drift back off to sleep without any need for burping, cuddling, holding etc.

All babies are different, sorry

I could usually tell as my LOs always had a more tense tummy when they had burps still to come up than when they didn't. xx
