This year I've been messing with my body. I go on and off birth control pills. I would only use them when I'd go visit my husband, and get off them as soon as I returned home. Repeated this a few times. In July, I took Plan B instead.

End of last month, I took one bc pill before I realized I wanted to start TTC with my husband this month, which we did around September 6th.

If I don't get PG this cycle, I believe it would be because of all the hormones from the bc and messing with my body.

I also have some sleep deprivation and stress which would probably contribute to it.

How long does it take for the hormones to be out of my body for good?

I don't know! I've been off for almost a month and I'm still having symptoms: nauseous, tender nipples and cramps. I've been flushing myself by drinking ALOT of water. Maybe that can help?

Oooh hopefully. I've been drinking lots and lots of water. I think the biggest concern here is that I need to get back into a healthier lifestyle before I even try. I haven't been as active, and I've been depriving myself of sleep.

Water works for everything though :happydance:

They say up to 3 months but some woman can take just untill they get a bleed or some can take up to a year. It realy is just how long is a pice of string.

If you get your first normal period when you should after taking bcps ( ie. A month later) can you assume they are out of your system or not? X

I was told the hormones are out of your body almost as soon as you stop taking them- that's why you get a withdrawal bleed. The real issue is that your brain forgets that its supposed to make natural hormones, and it can take about 3 months for your brain to remember this and make enough real hormones for you to start menstruating.

I have been off almost four months and still havent even ovulated on my own and had to pursue fertility drugs from my OBGYN. So I would say at least six months to a year. Perhaps longer. I dont know.. I only heard it was a month to three months but that obviously isnt the case for me nor is it the case for most people.

I ovulated the first month but im not sure if iv ovulated this month :( this being my 2nd month..

i would think so, but im no doc:shrug:

my doctor told me it only takes 3 days for the actual hormones to be out of your system, but i don't think that necessarily means your body jumps back to normal straight away, everyone is different. i didn't feel back to normal until after my first AF. i have a friend though who went off BC on Monday, ovulated Saturday and now has a beautiful 1 year old daughter.
