I know it's obviously so different for every child but as Rory never really rolled and crawled late I have absolutely no idea! Felix is four months and is rolling over from his back to front. He can roll front to back but doesn't seem to do it any more, though once he remembers he can I'm sure he'll be off! I was just wondering how long most babies take to go from rolling over to crawling? He's strong and I think being able to get about will make him much less frustrated.

ETA I spoke too soon, he has just rolled slowly but continuously half way across the floor :dohh:

DS started rolling back to front about 3.5 or maybe four month and front to back a few weeks later I think. He is seven months today and desperately trying to crawl, he can go backwards commando style but only a few inches forwards, he coordinates which arm and leg to move but as soon as he moves his leg his knees collapse lol. I think he will be crawling within a few weeks. He has been pulling up to stand though for weeks.

Ds started rolling from front to back at 11 weeks and then from back to front at 13 weeks. Like your ds, he doesn't choose to roll from front to back much anymore. This week he's just started hitching himself up on to his knees. So his bum is in the air, he's on knees & elbows and he's rocking. I think once he figures out how to be on his hands he'll be off!!!

Dd rolled at 19 weeks (both ways) & commando crawled at 7 months. They're all so different :)

DS1 rolled at 3 months and used this to move round the room he was 10 months before he could properly crawl!

DS2 has rolled over (18 weeks now) but prefers to just lie there and whine until his big brother comes and rolls him over!

I think usually it's a pretty long time. Mine rolled at 3 months to the day, but didn't crawl until 8 months.

LO rolled front to back at 3 months, back to front at 4 months, army-crawled at 7.5 months and crawled at 8.5 months!

DS1 rolled at 7 months and crawled by 7.5 months

DS2 rolled at about 4 months and is still refusing to crawl, he hates tummy time with a passion! He is however very sturdy on his feet and already trying to take wobbly steps.

Sounds like you've got a little mover on your hands!

DS flipped front to back just before 4 months, back to front at 4 months and didnt bother to roll. Just squealed like a seal and started trying to crawl. At 5.5 months he can manage a decent shuffle on his belly using his head ocassionally. He can roll (done it a few times) but just not bothered!

This evening ds saw something he wanted & used his legs to push himself forwards about 30cm to get it  His arms were useless though so I wouldn't call it crawling yet :haha:

DS rolled from 6 weeks but didn't crawl till 7 months. DD1 rolled at 9/10 weeks and crawled a little before 6 months.
