I'm trying to decide when I should tell my 6, and 5 yr old I'm expecting. I don't want to make it worse if I mc. But I don't want them to feel hurt when I can't pick them up, or do other small things. I'm currently 4 weeks, and have my 1st drs. apt on the 13th of oct!!!

Hiya, just popping over to say that we waited till after our 12 week scan to tell our 6 year old son just in case but you do whatever feels best :)

Oh and also it was easier for me not to tell him as I haven't picked him up in years! lol

We told my son (4) a couple of days ago, although I have had 2 scans already so feel it's relatively safe to do so.

I havent told my children yet. Last time, my daughter was 10 and I waited til 13 weeks when I had scan. Just in case, but also because 9 months is a long time for a child to wait so wanted to cut down the waiting time as much as possible! x

I had to let my son know early due to him having ADHD and constantly jumping on my lap, he is 9 and not a small 9 yr old, so it really was for a safety precaution, rather than picking up, sit down and ask him to sit next to you for a cuddle, it worked for my daughter when i was expecting my son :)

We told our 8 year old at 12 weeks and after the first scan. I would have liked to have waited until 4 months but I have had such bad MS she was wondering why mummy didnt move from the sofa all day and went to bed before her!!

I don't tell mine until 12 weeks so that I've minimized the risk of m/c,,I tell them my back is bad when they want carries :)
