How Many Teeth Should My 5yr old have?

My son keeps saying he's got a bad tooth at the top...both sides,
i put my finger in his mouth an told him to show me where it hurt, thinking he just needed to giv his teeth a good brush..even tho i brush them at night and he does them in the morning?!
but where hes pointing on both sides right at the bk there are no teeth, like where ur wisdom teeth cum thru...
he says its really sore, i counted his teeth an he has 10 on the top & 10 on the bottom, surely he hasnt go any more to come, an when he went to the dentist a few weeks ago 4 a check up they neva sed anything to me!

any ideas? thanks in advance x

Thats where the 6 year molars will come through, so they could be starting to erupt now. So basically he could be teething again, he may feel some discomfort and pain, a bit of calpol should sort that x

Forgot to say these are the first of his adult teeth so lots of care and attention needed. x

ahh thanks..tht makes perfect sense now!!
i have neva heard of 6yr molars
but he is my eldest lol bless him..thought we were thru his teethin
