I started weaning summer at 17 weeks due to lots different reasons anyway we have pretty much tried all the fruits and veg we can think of - she loves everything !

I've upted it to her now having porridge at breakfast then veg and fruit at lunch
But I'm confused what else to try as all I give her a veg / fruit
Thing is Shes still such a hungry baby - yesterday she had 32oz plus food
I'm just worried as I started earlier than the guidelines and I don't want to stretch her tummy but I'm thinking of adding a tea to the day so she will be on 3 meals a day - what do you think ?

She has 4 tea spoons if porridge and loves it
Is that amount ok ?
Her lunch is 2 cubes of veg and 1-2 fruit depending

I was wondering the same thing. Isabelle will have a feed and then an hour later half a jar of puree or hlf a mashed banana with milk. It seems a lot to me but it's evident she enjoys it. I only give her tea at the mo but was thinking of giving her breakfast too as she likes food so much, but how do you know how much food is too much??? I don't like just eating until she stops as I get the feeling she would never stop lol.

"food before one is just for fun" - just take it at your LO's pace, it's just another part of their development and all babies are ready at different times.

My LO is 5.5 months (24+4 weeks) and started weaning just before 20 weeks. He started on fruit purée and rice - after 2 weeks I added the veg purée at lunch time followed by fruit for dessert. Basically I now give him a bottle in morning followed by heaped tsp of porridge. At 12 he gets bottle followed by purred veg. At 3.30/4pm he gets fruit ( sometimes egg custard) and a bottle and at bedtime he gets bottle and 2tsp of rice mixed with 1tsp of fruit purée - so he eats at every bottle but just a little for now.

I think u could add rice after bedtime feed - a little should be fine.

I only do about an ounce of fruit in the mornings for a snack and about 2oz of a veggie in the evenings between bottles. She is obsessed with butternut squash!

My wee one is 22 weeks and we also weaned him early on advice from GP & Health Visitor. He eats LOADS! He has 3 tablespoons of fruit for breakfast, 1/2 jar or 3 tablespoons of veg for lunch followed by a couple of teaspoons of fruit, 3 tablespoons of veg for dinner and then about 2-3 table spoons of porridge before bed. He had been refusing his milk until night time and now has an 8oz bottle after his bath & then a 6 oz bottle about 10pm. he has about 8 oz at various times during the day.

I've tried to alter this and give him more milk but he spits it out or turns his head and continues to smack his lips for food! He's doing fine weight wise so i'm just following his lead for just now.
