I'm really sorry if there are already a million posts about this but I was just wondering how much food is enough??

My little one is 6 and half month and has the following eating routine:

8am 6oz bottle
10am 4 scoops (formula milk scoop) of banana porridge made with water
1pm half a pouch of an Ella's kitchen meal, Heinz custard pot and few sips of water
3.30-4pm 6oz bottle
6pm same as 1pm
8pm 9oz bottle

Is this enough/too much??

I know every baby is different but I just don't want to be over feeding or not giving her enough. I know people say babies will just stop eating when full but Caoimhe would literally eat all day if I let her. When she finishes her food she moans for more until I give her a toy or pop her in her bouncer and then she forgets why she is moaning.

She has stayed in the same weight percentile since birth so she isn't drastically gaining or losing weight.
Is there anything you would suggest changing, adding, taking away from her food routine??

Thanks ladies xx

Is that all the milk she wants? It doesn't seem much to me. At that age, it should be mostly about the milk with food just an extra rather than a real source of calories. It's fine if she wants to eat 3 meals and snacks as long as she's still having enough milk too.

Seems like a pretty small amount of milk. At that age, food is experimental - they will drop bottles and up solid food themselves as they develop. My LO was still eating 3 hourly during the day around then as well as two meals and a snack.

ETA: your LO is drinking less milk than my 11 month old (who is also on three meals and snacks).

My bubba is about 2 weeks older than yours, her day looks like:

7 ish 6 oz bottle (make 7 oz but rarely drinks it)
8 ish breakfast
10 ish 4 oz botle
11 ish lunch
2:30 ish 7-8 oz bottle
5 ish tea with 3 oz bottle
7:30 8 oz bottle

She did used to have her morning bottle at 11, but in order to have lunch before her nap at 12, i moved it to an hour earlier to 10, so she can have her lunch and not be too tired, she then started having less milk, probably cause she wn't so hungry not long after brekkie. Not sure if that was the right thing to do but it seems to work  We are blw though, she hates the spoon (unless she holds it!)

P.s prior to weaning she had bottles at 7,11,2:30,5:30 and 7:30. She was having approx, 6oz,7 oz, 7 oz, 5 oz and 8 oz (so ~ 32 oz ) - now she has ~ 29 oz, so a little drop but not huge.

That's all the milk she wants. Sometimes she doesn't even finish those amounts off. I did check with my HV about the milk and she said as long as babies being weaned are getting around 20oz a day then that's fine, I should add that 2-3 times a week she will have a snack of fromage fraise after her lunch and tea (granddads favourite treat for her) which the HV said was good.
What if I tried making her porridge with formula? I'm worried now you have all said she doesn't seem to be getting enough milk! I've tried giving more bottles but she just won't have them xx

Just out of interest how much did she have prior to weaning?

I wouldn't worry about it, she seems like she has taken well to food and you can lead a horse to water but can't make them drink!

My lo is a chunk and absolutely loves her milk. Although since we have offered her finger food she seems like she loves that too!

Prior to weaning she would have feeds at 7am, 11am, 3pm and 7pm, all between 6 and 9 oz (I'd always make 9 but half the time would never finish them)
We started weaning at 4 months as advised by our doc due to severe reflux, it was only porridge in a morning and evening but she just got the taste for food and by 5 months she was on 3 square meals a day. I was giving her bottles after her meals too to begin with but she just didn't want them so that's why she only has 3 bottles now.

Xx

My 7 month olds schedule is
8am 9oz bottle
9.30am 1 1/2 rusks with milk
12.30pm 9oz bottle
2.30pm mixed veg or mushed banana
4.30pm 9oz bottle
8.30pm 9oz bottle
I always offer his milk a good hour before he has any solids to make sure he's getting enough milk. If I offered him his food first he wouldn't be bothered drinking his milk.
That would be my only suggestion to see if she could drink a bit more milk. ;-)

I've always struggled to get LO to drink much milk. She's healthy and happy and loves her solids so I'm going on that not numbers. Sounds like a good amount of food at that age you are getting in to me. Well done.

My lg is 6 & half months & has 3 7oz bottles per dat. My health visitor said minimum 20oz per day but also remember yoghurt, milk in porridge etc counts. My lg is eating similar to yours & her appetite has grown quickly for food x

My HV and paediatrician has told me to take bottles down from 7 oz to 4 oz = 20 oz per day with weaning. 7 oz 5 times daily I've been told is too many calories with weaning. She also said offer more food than lo wants and let them stop.
