Just curious as to how much your lo's are having at this stage.

My little boy is now polishing off about 8oz a feed. the other night he had
10oz! He was on the recommended 4oz a feed but he began draining the bottle and still asking for more. He keeps it down but i cant believe how much milk he takes. hes only 3 weeks!

Im now having to use the bigger avent bottles as its a nightmare him going through 2 bottles a feed with the 4oz ones. Hes on apatmil hungry babies btw x

How long as he been on aptamil hungry baby for? Blimey my 5 and a half week old only takes 3-5 ounces per feed...mainly 4 ish.

My LO in 3 weeks old tomorrow, he has been taking 4oz every 2 hours... a handful of times he has drained it and I've had to make another 2 oz up, but he mainly takes about 3 and a half oz.
However he was extremely fussy and crying going stiff which my HV thought was because he is over feeding himself giving a bad stomach so she changed me from aptamil to cow and gate and said for me to try and stretch out longer between feeds... easier said than done! Twice yesterday he went 4 hours between feeds yet through the night was waking around 2 and a half hours screaming for food, I guess he knows when he's hungry but I have noticed a difference in him if he can go awhile longer.
I'm now trying him on cow and gate hungry baby, see if this can fill him anymore xx

my LO has 2.5-3oz every 3hours she is 3 weeks today. i was on sma but she has colic and costipation so changed to cow and gate comfort for last 2 days but she screamed after every feed so i have just given her her first aptimal bottle to see if that is any better :)

Our Cas is on 5oz a feed, since yesterday (9 days old) so I'm betting by 3 weeks he'll be feeding the same as your LO! :haha:

My Lo was on 6oz bottles at 4 weeks and is now polishing off 7oz ones. He's dropped a night feed and sleeps from 11.30pm-8.30am so is having 5 bottles a day instead of 6

My little girl is almost 4 weeks and having between 4 - 5 oz every 3 hours or so. How often is he feeding, does he go longer than 3 hours?

mine was on 4 oz until this week he has started on 5 oz and he is almost 6 weeks x

I've just started 5oz bottles today, LO feeds anywhere from 2-4hrs but sometimes (if I'm lucky!!) goes 6hrs at night

I think it had more to do with weight than age. My lo is a preemie and very small. She's 8 weeks but not even 6 lbs yet so she takes about 2 oz per feeding and is gaining well. Is your lo a bigger baby?

my lo is still only taking 5oz a feed and has just begun to finish every bottle and he will be 15 weeks tomorrow! he generally only has 5 feeds a day now and has begun sleeping through. though he is not a big baby he was 8lb3 at birth and is now 12lb1

my little man has about 4 - 4 and half oz every 2 and half hours. he used to go 3 hours between a feed until he started being sick last week after each bottle!!

he was 8lb at birth and 3 weeks later he weighed 10lbs. health visitor asked me to keep a week diary of his feeds as she said he is taking far too much for his age (almost double really) and if he kept up at that rate he would be ready for weaning but too young to be able to do it.

She has asked me to try and space it 3 hourly and only give him a maximum of 6oz but to eventually aim for 4-5oz. so far so good. he has tolerated the 5-6oz 3 hourly quite well and wakes at 2.30am for his night feed. problem is he is still taking far too much. the past few days his total has been 41oz where a baby of his weight should take about 26oz! :(

i am now trying out a day time routine with more structured sleeping in the hope that his is getting the right amount of rest play sleep so not confusing overtiredness etc with hunger. today has gone quite well. hope the night works out well too.
