How much should I express???

So me and OH are going to a posh wedding on Saturday and leaving the LO with the MIL. We're going out at 11am and probably won't be back until midnight, I just know that I will leak. So I am wondering whether I should:

A. Express the amount of the usual feed at the usual time, (and asking the barman to put it in the fridge to avoid wastage)!

B. Express say an ounce every time I go to the loo and flush it down!

I'm driving so alcohol is not an issue, I'm happy to do either, just wondered what you girlies thought.

Keeping the milk would be the good answer. However, the barman may not be able to keep it for you for several reasons, hygiene (on both parts) and the firdge might not be the right temp. Milk stands at room temp for 6 hours so could you drop some off home or is it too far? How about storing the bottles i some kind of cool bag in your car? Them nipple shields might be helpful to collect your leakage aswell!

Yep I got a coolbox and some freezer packs and that is perfectly doo-able, maybe I should go for that then. Do you think the usual feed amount and frequency??

Just pump as often as you comfortably can. You dont want it to ruin your day but 1 day off your schedule wont cock things up. I'd just pump when I got a chance and stick it in a cool bag and use it the next day maybe. Dont forget it's ok at room temp for a few hours but you will need to use it within 24hrs if it's not been refrigerated

Freshly expressed milk lasts for at least 8 hours at room temperature...I wouldn't worry about refrigerating it unless the wedding is in Tahiti or something.

Yep I'd pop it in a cool box and use it within 24 hours.

As MM said, just pump as and when there's an oppurtunity. Don't let it ruin your day. How old is your baby? You might be surprised and not become as engorged as you think!

She's nearly 4 weeks old.

I dont think 1 day with cock it up for you. If you have a routine then I'd say pump as close to it as poss but dont break your neck. Your boobs should be fine for a day at this point - they will just think she's off colour and not feeding as much if it's just a day.
