Don't know if anyone will know this or not, I had a bit of a google but no luck.

I just wondered if anyone knew the average weight of baby at 28 weeks, and then how much they gain on average between now and birth?

Had a 4D scan at the weekend and the lady said Roo was approx 3 pounds and 1 ounce which seemed was too big LOL! I'm hoping he's not going to gain too many more pounds :haha: Enough to be healthy - but no more!!!

I was a big baby (9 pounds 11 ounces) which is why I think i'm stressing!!!!

Thanks in advance ladies :flower:

Also - totally different question but Roo is breach at the mo (has been since 20 week scan) is there anything I can do to get him in a head down position? I know I don't need to worry about it yet, but the sonographer said head down was better for 4D pics as they can't get their feet & hands in the way LOL. I had no photos of his cute little face at the weekend cause he had hands and feet in the way so I am hoping to somehow turn him to get the pic :haha: I want to see my cuties button nose :cloud9:

I'd say an average of 5lbs, but babies birthweights vary massively.

I had a scam at 28+5 and Evan was 2lbs 15oz (est) then he was born at 38 weeks weighing 7lbs 4oz, so he put on 4.5lbs between 28-38 weeks :)

Thank you !!

Looks like it could be 8 lbs then, which tbh is what I was estimating from the beginning anyways.

interestin question, when i had my 4D at 30 weeks my lil man was 3pound 10 ounces (est) so i think im gonna have a big baby, thank god the clothes i have arent too little lol xx

Hi

I think the average weight gain of baby is about 5lb from 28-40 weeks, but it obviously varies from baby to baby.

Re turning a breech baby, it depends on how far you want to go with it. Leaning forwards over the back of a chair, getting down on all fours, sitting on a birth ball are recommended at your stage of pregnancy. Some people have been known to put themselves upside down (ie legs and back up the wall, shoulders on the floor). Also reflexology is good for turning breech babies, as is cupping.

If you want to find out more, you can search for "optimal foetal positioning" or "ofp" on google and it should give you lots of advice on how to get baby in the best position.
