My baby girl is 12 days old & in the night she wakes up every 2hrs to feed.
In the day if she's awake for say 2 hrs, she will feed on & off throughout that time. She usually spends about 10mins at each breast & likes to have a rest between sittings eg feed for 10 then new nappy, feed for 10, rest for 10-15mins & feed for maybe 5 etc

is anyone alas finding anything similar? I'm presuming it's normal & just feeding on demand!

Please help xxxxxx

In the early weeks it felt as though I was constantly feeding my son :hugs: xx

Anywhere between 8 and 12 times in the 24 hours is normal. Less or more would be a worry. But babies can cluster feed where they have several feeds during the evening and it feels like one flows into the next!

In the first 6 weeks it felt like all I ever did was feed my baby and nothing else. Hang in there, it gets better.

I'm a second time mum but new to bf and I didn't realise how hard bf was going to be and how demanding on me it was going to be, maybe I'm naieve but I just didn't have a clue.
I'm finding that during the day Helena will be bf for an hour every 2/3 hours (although mw has told me to stop after half hour and offer her a 2oz top up with either expressed or forumla). Helena will bf at night around 10pm for an hour but then doesn't wake for another feed until 4am where she'll just bf for half hour and then wake for her next feed at 7am-ish.I worry that she isn't feeding enough during the night but despite my efforts to wake her and feed her, she doesn't want to know, my mw assured me that as long as she's feeding every 2/3 hours in the day that she'll be getting enough.
