Just wondering for the ladies that have breastfed how quickly the weight came off? I am feeling really down about my body and really hope it goes back to normal quickly after the birth if i eat healthy and walk everyday. It will also be summer time here when i have had my baby so that means shorter sleeves and shorter pants arghhh i dread the thought of my post baby body

I was back to my pre-pg weight by about 4 months - I was exclusively BF. Back in my normal jeans by 6 weeks.

Assume it will take a while (9 months to go on, 9 months to get off). You will need to eat well and a little more than usual to make sure you have enough milk. This is not a time for dieting!

I managed to squeeze into jeans about 2 weeks later, but they were a squeeze!! ha ha, prob a few months really. I did find however that I did store a little fat until I actually gave up feeding at 9 months. I guess your body naturally holds some in reserve for the baby. As soon as I stopped the last bit just dropped off and I was actually skinnier tha when I started..

Least it will be summer there and you can get out for walks with the baby, just keep active without going crazy and it will soon disappear!!

I hope i lose the weight quick..My last pregnancys i was size 10 pre pregnancy at 9 stone and weighed 11 stone at 9 months but this time i was size 12 at 10 and half stone and now weigh 12 and half stone :( ...I plan on breast feeding for aslong as possible but hoping to do atleast 6 months and then if cant carry on start dieting in summer after 6 months is up x

I put on 26kg or 4 stone and was back to my pre-pregnancy weight by 6months, but I didn't start going to gym classes until 7months post birth. I breastfed for 13months and ate healthily, but didn't diet. I didn't feel like I had my old body back until well over a year, but this was a new version of my old body, of course, complete with smaller boobies, saggy skin and stretch marks! When you ask how long it takes to get back into shape, I think you also have to ask how much weight and how big their bump is, otherwise you can't really compare. My bump is always massive - I was showing at 13week this time!

my friend lost 2 stone in a week - shes almost back to normal weight already and bubs is only 3 weeks old!

im really lucky i loose my weight so fast after delivery i was back to pre-pregnancy size within 2 weeks after having my last 2 babies, im hoping this one will be the same! I dont diet either because of breastfeeding i just eat really good food thats good for my milk xx

I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight within 6 weeks...the first 20 lbs came off in the first 3 weeks and it took the other few the next 3 but I was back to pre-pregnancy within the 6 weeks. As my little man got "plumper" I used to joke he was sucking the fat off my bones...but I guess it really was true! :)

The weight fell off me very quickly when I was breastfeeding and I couldn't put weight on for love nor money, especially so in the first 6 weeks when baby was feeding constantly. I popped her in the sling and got out and about too.

Thanks ladies, it sounds like most of you lost it pretty easily. I just hope i'm the same, it is hard for me to know how much to eat though to maintain my milk supply because i have dieted most of my life. I guess i will just have to be sensible about it and if my milk starts drying up i will eat more or if i am gaining rather than losing just eat less

The breastfeeding coach at the hospital said you burn 500 calories a day breastfeeding in the first 6 weeks, then it ups to 800 calories!
