It's not bad! It's probably all that I drank for the first few weeks. It DOES have lots of sugar so if you're needing to keep an eye on your weight and not gain too much then you might want to see about substituting some fizzy water or something every now and again but other than that, it's fine! It's very helpful and ginger is good in your pregnancy. It's helped me so much.

Ginger ale should be ok, but stay away from the diet ones, and perhaps any with high fructose corn syrup. Obviously water is best, but there are certainly worse things!

Where would you get the idea its bad? It is very good, no caffeine and if you buy the kind that has actual ginger in it you will see it help with nausea...

Thanks guys!! yeah thats the only thing that sucks the sugar content. And yes mine is made with pure ginger, helps so much :). I was only asking cuz isn't ginger-ale considered soda? i thought i needed to stay away from soda? :dohh:

Sort of. Carbonated beverages can steal calcium from your body, and your baby is already going to be doing that. But as long as you replace it with good sources of calcium, you should be fine. Plus, you're probably taking a prenatal which has that in it anyway. I've been craving dairy like it is going out of style and eating/drinking everything dairy this week, maybe because I drank so much ginger beer :haha: Who knows. This week also baby is forming teeth buds and bones so that could have something to do with it, but that aspect of soda as well as CAFFEINE and sugar content are the reasons you're told to avoid it. Ginger beer like someone else said is not caffeinated and does have high sugar content but you know what? I brought it up with my midwife last appointment and she took one look at me and was like, "Oh, phooey! Just drink it! If that's helping, just eat or drink basically whatever you can right now." She obviously meant whatever is on the safe-for-pregnancy list. Basically if you're struggling and that is helping you, keep drinking it! You can always start exercising once you feel better.

OH I see now, yes soda is fine. I mean, one a day not the only thing you drink :haha:

I actually drink water but to change it up I do lemonade and sometimes seltzer for the carbonation. I allow myself one diet coke a week, on Fridays. Its my "happy hour". :happydance:

Any fluid is better then no fluid but I understand your worry about the sugar. My advice would be to see if you can get some natural ginger ale. If you have a whole foods are natural food store they are your best bet. Good luck I am not looking forward to my ms kicking in.

I do that too... lol. :haha:

Most of the time I buy seltzer water and add a splash of lemonade or cranberry juice. It tastes so yummy!

Yeah its not bad. No caffeine, has natural ginger to soothe your tummy if it's turning. The only thing I'd be worried about is the sugar and calorie content as soda makes me gain a ton of weight
