My LO is nearly 7 weeks old and has started waking up for hours on the middle of the night. She can wake up anytime between around 8 and 11 and not go back down until 2 or 3. We don't leave her to get to tired and try to get her back to sleep but she struggles to stay awake. She must be tired because when we do get her to sleep she sleeps for longer than she normally does. I don't know what else to do we try everything to get her to sleep and she just fusses constantly and cries if you try to put her down. Does anyone have any advice? I really don't want to just leave her to cry it out but nothing else is working.

Honestly, at 7 weeks I think you just have to be baby led and try to sleep when she sleeps. She's still establishing her rhythm and you can't force it.

You can encourage it along by keeping the house bright during the day and using black out blinds at night so she knows the difference between day and night. Also, establish a bed time routine so she gets cues for night sleep eg a bath, a song and white noise or something. But she is far too young for any drastic action like sleep training.

I know it's exhausting but it will get better with time.
