How unhelpful!

I am meant to be going for a 21 day progesterone test. The difficulty is that my cycles are irregular (last month it was only 18 days long!) and this makes it difficult to one book it and two know when to go. I have been getting +OPK for the last three days. I am going to assume I ovulated yesterday. Dr said to go for the test 7 days before AF, my average LP is only 11 days long.

Anyways getting to the point the Dr said don't worry about booking just ring as soon as I know when I need it done and they will fit me in. So I rang today to try and get it done Friday but they can't fit me in. They can only do mornings but have no early morning appointments around this date

I work over half hour away from my doctors so can't just pop there and back. What am I meant to do? Has anyone had similar issues?

Yep they were just so unhelpful!
Asked for a ring back from the doctor in the end. It's going to be a different doctor than the one that asked for the tests but I am hoping that they can help.

Update:
Spoke to doctor who cannot do anything about no appointments being available but is going to order the scan now rather than wait for test results as I wont be able to have it done until next cycle now.

I know they can see all sorts in there, ive just had one done, is he still going to do the progesterone test next cycle?

The test should be 7 days post-O, not 7 days pre-AF. They wouldn't have anything consistent to compare it to since everyone's AF vary's so wildly

Pinky- Yes they are, just no idea if I will manage to get an appointment Might just book one in and hope its around the right time

Nevernormal- I thought that too but they said no 7 days before AF as I only have a 11 day average LP phase. With the weekend it would have been about 7 days after Ov it I had managed to get an appointment.

Hi hun, can't you go directly to the hospital?? I had the same thing yesterday, I don't drive and work miles from my surgery so my dr gave me a bag & ticket thing and went directly to the hospital. It's better that way anyway as they don't give you a time, they just sya between 9-4pm xxx

haha Went to the OBGYN for the first time since moving, and had a TERRIBLE experience! She was awful!

I agree that he should be doing the test 7 days after O, not 7 days before AF, because this assumes you have a 14 day LP. My last cycle was only 21 days, and my LP was only 7 Maybe call up the Dr. and see if they have anything around 7dpo???

Nope I asked if I can do this and they said that the hospital doesn't do that anymore. I hate needles so part of me is hoping I am pregnant this month so I don't have to have the test

They couldn't fit me in until later next week which would be about 10dpo. Tempted to book one and hope that if I am not pregnant I might be on by then.

Hey hun I had mine on 8dpo due to the weekend. It should still be rising by 10dpo shouldnt it? I would have it then xxxx

I would think they would have some sort of formula to adjust it if it is taken a few days before or after 7dpo. I don't know because I have never had this blood test (except for when I was pregnant), my Dr. diagnosed low progesterone by my LP and spotting.
