so i posted about having this for the first time in my life during this pregnancy!

my docs and MW dont seem too concerned, even tho they're painful and bleed alot even when i wipe from going for a wee:cry:

i just want whats best for baby and they said a csection is more of a problem, i just dont know what to listen to because the internet said if the warts are active and rupture during birth (which will DEFINATELY happen) they can tranfer to baby even tho its unlikely.

advice?! what would u do? its not getting better its still slowly getting worse....

Hi, I suffered about 4 years ago, luckily since having them removed have never had a reoccurrence. I was told that IF I feel any I must report it to my mw/docs immediately so they can assess and see if any further action needs to be taken.

I am surprised they are not doing anything to help you to be honest. Can they not treat them? I did think the main worry was actually with herpes and not warts though. Maybe it is worth ring your GUM clinic and getting advice from them x x

I'd maybe have another talk with the mw becuase sometimes mums with genital warts can pass these to baby (not to mention how contagious they are for the OH) and baby is can be born with the genital warts in their mouths which can be quite serious. Dont let her fob you off un x

But herpes is different to HPV, they can look similar but they are two different conditions.

See my doc is highly suggesting a c-section to me to protect my little boy. He doesn't want to take the chance really. (I have Hpv too btw)

i think the warts are only a concern for baby if they are large and block or crowd thebirth canal... but not sure id ring your docs again hun

I had recurring BV and a case of HPV and warts before my pregnancy. It wasn't pleasant and because of this I am going to request being examined shortly before my due date, I don't want to take any chances. I hope they can help you out and that it wont lead to a c section, but I can see why they offer c section if it prevents baby being affected....but can't they sort it before the birth with antibiotics or creams? x

I was told that the antibiotics and creams will only be given if you aren't pregnant. The only way to take care of them is to cut/burn/freeze them off....but maybe that's just my docs office
