hi ladies i was at my fs today and he has said everything is fine, im to have an hsg in 8 - 10 weeks to check tubes but he said he is not expecting anything wrong there so that would make me unexplained infertility, he went on to talk about iui with injections in to the stomach, this should be done in october maybe according to the waiting time for me, anythng you can tell me about either of these experiences would be great, also about the injections to the belly where exactly are they and are they painful i have a needle phobia which isnt great, so if these are going to be really bad i can arrange nearer the time to get them done by a nurse rather than trying to do them by myself, many thanks ladies:flower:

I used the Follistim Epi pen for my injections. I have a HORRIBLE needle phobia so much so that I used to faint any time I got a shot or blood drawn. With that being said, when I was trying to get prego with my daughter I had a family member do the injections for me. BUT this time around, I am doing all the injections myself. They are virtually painless and very easy to administer yourself. The first injection I was super nervous, but after I injected I was like "Dude, that wasn't even bad". lol. I have done them ever since!~

My RE said the injections can go anywhere 2 inches from the belly button. I normally shot on the sides and switched sides with each injection.

Please don't be scared, it is so easy :) I watched a youtube video first on a gal that injected herself. After the injection she was like "Oh my gosh, I didn't even feel it". That gave me my courage to do it myself ... and she was right ... barely even hurt! :) Good luck girly!!!

I've not had the injections personally, I was on Clomid, but I've heard the injections aren't that bad at all. That would have been our next step- and I HATE needles... but figured all would be worth it if it worked ;)

The IUI process isn't that bad either- bit more uncomfortable than a pap smear. They use the speculum like usual, then you'll feel some minor discomfort when they insert the tube, but it all only lasts maybe 3-5 minutes? If that? Honestly, I thought the dye test was the worst of it... as that was a tad painful for me (but I'm really sensitive in that area)... but it wasn't bad and didn't last that long.

Out of curiosity- why straight to the injections? Are they just wanting to take a more aggressive approach? I would think Clomid might be worth trying... but injections do have higher odds.

Best of luck hun! Hope it happens quickly for you :) FX'd!!!!!

thanks hun ive no idea why straight to the injections i thought that was normal will ask at next appt, maybe because we have been trying over 10 years??? im not sure, thanks for the answers ladies im all excited for it cant wait now feel like things are actually moving yay!!
