I experienced Hyperemesis with both my previous pregnancies. My first pregnancy I was 21 the second I was 25. Both times I was dealthy ill till 16 weeks. I am now 35 (remarried) and Im wondering if anyone has heard of the odds of getting this again. :nope: Is it one of those things that if you have had it twice you are most likely have it again or do you think its possible to not get it with this pregnancy? Is the third time the charm??? :happydance:

Every pregnancy is different - I keep my fingers crossed for you

Mine did seem to go quicker this time (2nd pg) but it has just come back... ;(

You might get lucky hun:hugs:
I'm on my 4th now and have it again for the 4th time:flower:

Every pregnancy is different but Hyperemesis tends to be something you either suffer from or you don't. According to my consultant morning sicknes and hyperemesis are two different things, ms varies dependent on differences in each pregnancy, hyperemesis is generally the way your body reacts to changes which occur in every pregnancy. I hope it is something you manage to escape, or at least you find a way to get it under control quickly. I too suffered till 16wks with Poppy and was in hospital on iv fluids etc. Same this time, been in hospital on a drip and anti sickness injections a few times and lost 19lbs already - gone from 9st 7 to 8st 2. Fingers crossed for you xxxx Oh and congratulations! xxxx

I'm confused with the facts on Hyperemesis, it says that only 2% of women get it but I think more women get it than that!!!

Either that or the whole 2% come on b&b!!xx

HAHA! Armywife! That made me laugh out loud!!!! :haha: I swear its more than 2%! Maybe its just a fine line between severe morning sicness and hypermesis.... I dont know the difference??? :nope:

Thank for all your advice!!! Im just counting the days till it hits me. I should go live it up and eat a batch of cookies and tons of French Fries in the mean time :smug:

hi there i think a lot of people get confused between hyperemesis and normal morning sickness.hyperemesis is an awful awful illness.i had it with my first pregnancy and ive just found out im 5 weeks pregnant so hopinh i dont get it again......i was told the chances are no higher just cos uve had it with first pregnancy so fingers crossed!goodluck xx

i had it with my son and was deathly ill too. i'm praying it doesnt happen again. but the odds are just up in the air. some people get it everytime. some people only get it with certain pregnancies. :hugs: i hope we're both in the clear with this one!

i never had it with my first two boys, but this third pregnancy i have been diagnosed with it :( Here's hoping its because its a girl lol

welshprincess, I have two girls so if thats any indication you'll get you little princess :) Sorry you have it this time around! Its tough but you get through it! :hugs:

Oh god i hope so, i mean dont get mme wrong, i will be happy as long as its healthy, but if i could choose i would love a princess, my two prince's would love a sister :) The doc as given me some tabs for the sickness and gotta be honest they are makin my life alot better at moment, not 100% better but 60% :)

Any percent is better!!! If I end up with it this time around I will ask my midwife for meds... Ill keep you posted, if I dont get sick, maybe its a boy ;)

sick= girl?
not sick= boy?

haha.... time will tell, right?

lol. i had a boy! so it's not always a girl thing. we can only wish though! people are more likely to say it's twins that cause it.

lol. i know i know. when i had it i was like "yayyy a girl maybe!" but i saw his penis in the scan before he even told me it was a boy hahah. when iwas first sick they did a scan to make sure it wasnt twins. but nope, just one little boy.

I keep waiting for it to hit me. :dohh: I have two girls and really would love a boy this time.... :happydance:
