Update
I found the company on Facebook and sent a private message, telling them if I hear nothing from them by tomorrow morning I will have no choice but to get my cake elsewhere. A few hours later I got an email in my hotmail, with no reference to my facebook message with the delivery info. I emailed her back saying that's fine. I then got an email with this: "when was the cake for again?". (I had placed an order in January for the cake which is for next week!) I replied straight away telling her and 4 hours later no reply. I just emailed her telling her to cancel my order!
As I said in my title, how do some people run a business?!!
It is my LO's christening next Sunday and I am really worried about what to do regarding the christening cake. I ordered it back in January via email and the company emailed me back asking where I lived. I emailed back telling her, and asked if this would be ok and how much delivery would be to where I stay. She never got back to me. I have had it in my mind to phone her but I've had a lot going on and other non christening-related things have happened since and I know this part of it is my own fault, but I never did it with everything else going on in my head and the christening cake not a priority. I just assuming everything is ok and they were just busy. but now with my focus back on the christening and with a week to go, I am panicking...
I emailed on Friday (yesterday) morning confirming the cake order and asked again about delivery, and heard nothing. Their phone rang out when I phoned them. their website is still active with recent comments so I don't think they have gone under. They didn't take a deposit, just told me to pay on delivery or pick up of cake. I haven't lost any money which is great but with a week to go, if I need to order a new cake from somewhere I'll need to get going, but don't know if I should as even though no money has been paid, this other place who aren't responding could get in touch and try to make me pay for it...
What would you do? How long would you give it before you ordered another one and told original place you no longer want the cake?
