I hate my pram

I despise it. If I could rip it to bits and chuck it in the river I totally would. So I need some advice on what to do.

We have the Uppa Baby Vista. It cost about as much as a small house and it's roughly the size of one. The bassinet was too small; the 2nd bit was too big for sooo long. Now LO hates it and to be honest, it looks so bloody uncomfortable I'm not surprised. It's MASSIVE and such a pain to take anywhere, plus it takes up most of our (fairly large) boot. Thing is, we do plan on another baby so I need a pram I can reuse - otherwise I'd just buy a cheap pushchair. Do I:

Sell it (if so, do you think it would sell?) and buy a different one?

Other ideas?

I seriously hate it so much.

Sell it, I've just sold my big Mothercare my3 (with additional 4 wheel chassis). Got £50 for it, and it's not enough really with it costing £400+ when new but I just needed it gone! So £50 was better than nothing. I loved it but it was just taking up room especially with the additional chassis.

I've got the bugaboo bee now which is brilliant, both parent, and world facing, newborn carrycot available, and loads of colour choices for the hoods. It's lovely.

Oh and it's one piece when folded and fits into most boots. And pretty lightweight. I'm not having any more children but I didn't just want a cheap forward facing stroller as my LO likes to be parent facing quite often, plus point is they've got a really good resell value.

I have both the Vista and the Bugaboo Bee. I only use the Vista for walks around the neighborhood, but I like it okay. They have terrific resale value (at least in the US, I'd imagine it would be the same there), so I'd suggest selling it. Look at completed listings on eBay to get an idea of how much they are going for.

I have had a tank, a double steelcraft (britax) that was so wide it barely fit through any doorways and so heavy that it felt like I was pushing a car! Especially when the kids were smaller. I think I was pushing a good 45kg at one point.

I bought an Australian stroller called a hipod ifold that weighs 7.5kg. It is like the budget version of (a slightly older one maybe?) Britax b-agile/steelcraft agile. Very similar shape and style to a baby jogger city mini.

So I would highly reccomend a b-agike or a city mini if you could find one in your price range. My hipod is awesome wirht a huge canopy and so easy to push and steer.

We're definitely not prepared to spend any extra money - we will spend up to what we can sell this pram for, which means we won't have an expensive pram but to be honest, I wish I hadn't spent so much money in the first place - it was a waste. I should've bought a pram for under £300, bought a lightweight pushchair too and invested in an Ergo!

I paid about the equivalent of £100 for my hipod. City mini and agile are (I think) £240ish new here. Would you be ok with secondhand? I have had 5 strollers all up and the one I have now is certainly my absolute favourite.

I've also got a kinderpack for baby...er...toddler wearing but find I use the stroller much more often now that I have one I like.

I'm not at all familiar with your pram as we have different brands here, but if you paid a lot for it I hope you can get a decent amount when you sell it. I just had a google and it looks a lot like my steelcraft heavy old tank of a pram I used to have. My one was like this but the double version so probably even wider and more stupidly heavy:

I would sell it. Not sure where you live but mothercare has a sale on.

Sell it. If you hate it that much now you're not going to like it any more next child round. The selling groups on Facebook or gum tree/eBay generally have decent things second hand which you'll probably be able to get within budget or not much more. Either that or get a cheap stroller for now and pack that pram away for next time.

Everyone seems to rave about the uppababy! It was out of my budget and too big for my boot but would've been my first choice. I've got the m&p sola, I've gone through stages of hating it but I've just got the new air tyres for it and I like it again. It feels heavy to lift into the car but otherwise I think it's great, can ff, rf, suitable from birth, can attach a carry cot or car seat, decent size basket, good handle height. You can pick them up cheap from eBay but they're not too expensive anyway.

How old is your LO? We stopped using the buggy when my LO was about 18 months and he has since walked everywhere or we will carry him for short stretches. I know that solution is not for everyone, but it worked really well for us.

If you still feel you need a pram then go for one of those little, light folding ones, they are much less hassle than lugging a tank about.

He's 20 months and weighs about as much as a small star so carrying him isn't much of an option! Also, I'm pretty sure he's the most wilful child ever born and all he wants to do is walk where he wants so we get nowhere fast. I'm more thinking of using a pram for trips out (shopping say or long walks) rather than every day activities, when he copes well just walking with us.

Uppa baby gets wonderful reviews; it is the Rolls Royce of the pram world... Except I hate it. It's beautiful to push - light, manoeuvreable etc - but it's just so damn big. Plus the seat is like the most uncomfortable thing ever. I think I'm the first person ever to hate it but I do. I wouldn't buy it again in a million years. Clearly I had no sense when pregnant!

I bought my double buggy 2nd hand with carseat (didnt use) and carrycot for £250, it was £700 in the shop and had been used 4 months so I would definately consider buying 2nd hand for your next one

I'd sell it on gumtree and use the money to buy a babyjogger city mini gt (rather than the standard version). I sold my sola 2nd hand and didn't get that much for it, but the vista holds it's value a lot better I think.

Agree. Had a sola, hated it, got a city mini gt and it's awesome. Fold easy for bus etc hits in my tiny boot. Never need a raincover as hood is huge.

Perhaps sell it and get the next one second hand from a charity shop?

If your are not happy with it then I'd sell it :)

I was always selling and buying my prams/buggies once I got bored of them. They've had about eight between them. Already picked out the bugaboo bee for our next baby :)

I've sold and bought a few prams on eBay (as I get bored :haha: )..... The vista goes for around £200. I just bought an old 09 bee for £100, the newer ones go for around £250-300 x

I would offer to swop you for my babystyle oyster, but I think yours is worth more than mine! lol.

I couldn't decide between the oyster and the vista when i was pregnant.

I'd sell it and get something else. But try them out in shop first I always change my mind when I see it in a shop. I've just brought the bee but I think you can get them from eBay for £200.
