i have one hungry baby!!

so since my LO was born it seems she loves the milk,

in the day its every 2 hours!! and she has like 5oz at a time. and if shes not fully satisfied after about 30 minutes from her last feed she will want another 1-2oz just to fill her up again.

thing is she does sleep all night from 9-6 so im thinking this is why. goes for it all day then at night doesnt have any.

just strange as my other two children werent like this, it was normal 4 oz every 3-4 hours and through the night, but then again they say every child is different.

just hard to get housework done lol

WOW thats fab she is going through the night ! I would love our LO to be like that ! My Lo goes from 2-3 hrs taking 3-5 oz but then sometimes we do get the odd 4 hr gap and very very rarely she will go 5 hrs but the night feeds are often 10pm - 1300ish - 0430 then 0600

We find that she takes ages to settle too and often only getting hr naps - its soooo tiring ! I guess like you say all babies are different and it takes time for them to find their own routine. It sounds like she is stocking up in the day time to go through the night

Lucky!!! I don't know exactly how much mine eats as i'm breast feeding, but mine eats every hour to two hours for 20-30 min at a time and still eats through the night. Ugh I would kill for even a 4 or 5 hour stretch of sleep!

Up until 5weeks Lola was having 6-7oz every feed but then dropped herself to 4oz and the hv said she had evened herself out as she was having waaaayyyy to much milk (if they want it then I don't see how it's to much) she's now back upto 6oz.she's always been a very content baby so as long as ur lo is happy with that feeding pattern at the mo then I wouldn't worry hun xx

Can I ask why she thought 6-7oz is too much milk? My LO takes 7oz five times a day and one 9oz bottle.

Apparently it all goes by weight and when Lola was taking 7oz she was 11lb (she was taking it alot longer before that tho) and hv reckoned that at 11lb Lola shouldve been on 30oz a day max and she was having 7oz 6-8 times a day.I was told to not even offer that amount but I'm sorry if baby is hungry and wants 7oz that's what she's gonna get.every baby is different but I think they are very strict on guidelines xx

Ah ok, I didn't know that! My HV always asks how much LO takes but she's never said hes taking too much He weighed 13lbs 13oz at his check last week, who knows how much he should be having?! I always just give him what he wants.

Until 3 months my DD ate every 1.5-2 hours, but she's breastfed

my baby was exactly the same. i was using Apatamil 1 breastmilk substitute but then realised it wasn't filling him so was drinking 5oz every 2 hours too.. i switched to the Aptamil 2 hungry baby milk and he eats every 3-4 hours and sometimes doesn't even drink the whole lot. it is much easier during the day not feeding every 2 hours..
