I just swallowed a piece of glass

It was only the size of a pin head but even so!

I just opened a bottle of alcohol free kopperberg and in the first mouthful felt something hard. I wiped it off my tongue and it was glass! I could feel a sharp object in my throat and when looking at the bottle could see 2 chips round the rim. I'm pretty sure i swallowed one. I can still feel it in my throat when i swallow.

I am not happy!

Oh no! Do you think it's scratched all your throat and that's why you can feel it or do you think it's stuck? I'd maybe call the NHS number and see what they say just to be safe

I dont know. It doesnt hurt but is uncomfortable. DH seems to think it is nothing but that we should complain to the CEO.

Ouch . Hope you feel Ok now! Might be worth a call to the shop where you bought it to give them the heads up in case other bottles from the same crate are damaged, in case the crate got dropped when they unloaded it or something.

Hopefully the glass won't do any major damage. A bit that small might just scratch your throat a little.

That scares the crap out of me, I avoid putting pins in my mouth because of that, but sometimes I do and I swear I can imagine swallowing them and it being horrible...

That scares the crap out of me, I avoid putting pins in my mouth because of that, but sometimes I do and I swear I can imagine swallowing them and it being horrible...

Makes me think of that episode of House where the guy had accidentally swallowed a toothpick, and it ended up poking holes all throughout him, which of course they didn't figure out til the end of the show. Kind of makes ya shudder in horror.

OP, I'd call GP to see if it's a problem or if they think its small enough to be fine.
