Me and my OH are looking at names and we are stuck we always said we would use alan michael as middle names as they are sentinmental to us (alan is my dad who passed away 2 and a half years ago and Michael for My OH's dad who passed away last year)

What i am wondering is, is two middle names too much hard work and I am not really sure they are neccessary! (We decided on this when we were still really upset and you eventually become more comfortable with your loss)

Also can anyone tell me what connor would be shortened to as a nickname? My parents spent months deciding on lucy as they thought it couldn't be shortnened. They were wrong!

Thanks if you have made it to the end of my ramblings!

Lucy and Dot

I personally wouldn't shorten Connor and i think the 2 middle names are great! My daughter has 2 middle names and really you dont use them but are nice for senitmental reasons! xx

I wouldn't shorten Connor either, it's my cousins name & nobody shortens it with him hun. I think your two middle names are lovely & not to much hard work at all, if we ever have a little boy we've decided on Michael Christopher as middle names (mine & OH's dads names) x

I wouldn't shorten Connor either, but we called our little man Seth thinking it wouldnt be shortened but we lengthen it to Sethie lol!

I would think about whether you're planning any future children and then give one name to dot and the other to a future LO I think. In case of girls you could always go Alana or Michaela? I don't think Alan and Michael are too much together, I just wouldn't want to use all my middle names at once if it was me.

I think Connor is lovely and personally I wouldn't shorten it. I also think your middle names are really nice, I agree though with above post about not using all your middle names if you are planning more babies :) x

my little boy has 2 middle names, after my dad and stepdad (and one of them is michael :winkwink:)
Conner's nice, you dont need to shorten it :)

i think the whole name flows nicely  xxx

I wouldn't shorten the name Connor, either, in fact I know a Connor and I can't say I've ever heard him being called anything other than that, and tinkerbellkir, I agree, our son is Joel, but gets lengthened to Joely (I know - it's a girls name :dohh::haha:) I also have a brother and cousin called craig and Carl, again names you can't shorten but get called CraigE and CarlE (again - very feminine!) so have given up on thinking of names that can't be shortened!

Oh, and DD was always going to be Charli, she was just named Charlotte so we had something to shout at her when she was being naughty, as both hubby and I only get called our full names when we're in trouble!
Oh and DS has two middle names, again sentimental.

Thanks for the replies ladies! We just need to wait and see if dot sticks and what he/she will turn out to be x x x x

My brother has 3 middle names

Simon Michael Euan Robert Frise,

and his initials spell SMERF. Haha. He loves it. Lol.

I like your names you have. I too have a cousin Connor and no one has ever shortened his name, 'Con' just isnt right. Haha

xXx
