She is amazing! I'm really annoyed I didn't see her sooner it would have helped soo much. She actually called my GP and asked for a list of all I had been prescribed and then wrote out exactly what I did need and got the community nurse to get me an appointment with a doctor who she knew would be sympathetic this afternoon :happydance: FINALLY might get to be pain free! She gave me some tips on expressing and gave me some smaller nipple shields than the ones I had which LO finds much easier and said she's gonna call me tomorrow to see how I'm getting on. I could have kissed her :haha:

Thats really good; was she from the local NHS BF support team or somewhere else? xx

It's so great when it all finally comes together with the right person saying the right things. I had a hard time with my first and went for lots of help from different people. You just have to keep on trying and looking for help until you get the help that you need. I didn't get bad help from everyone, I just needed to be shown in a particular way a particualr technique.

My first LC was hands off, but I needed a more hands on approach. LC's also use different latch techniques, and I needed to use the sandwich technique as I might call it rather than without hands. One size does not fit all and it's important to know that and ask for second opinions

I'm not sure I just found out on Google that the community centre has a drop in and I went along a bit sceptically and turned out she's amazing. She isn't one of the hospital ones though cos I haven't been able to get in contact with them at all. Everyone in the waiting room was singing her praises. Just annoyed that no one told me about it before.

It is SUCH a relief isn't it! She hasn't actually helped me with latch yet but just reaffirmed what I already knew about having bad thrush and needing antibiotics which my GP was denying and sorted it all out for me :)

Yay! Glad your getting it sorted; there are some fantastic people out there!
