I started drinking decaf coffee and stopped the soda. Do you think this stresses the body out more or do you think I should be okay. I have had a bit of a headache for the past few days and starting to think I should drink a coke!!!

I drank a cup of coffee every morning with both my pregnancies without any problems. I stopped for a bit when trying to conceive Aiden and it does give you the worst headaches

1-2 cups a day is fine!
I'd be more inclined to stay away from the soda though and just make it a treat but coffee and tea I have drank with all my pregnancies and so has everyone else I know. Just limit it :)
Ps we have the same due date! :D
Any symptoms yet?

Thank you ill be getting my coffee tomorrow with a smile:) and yes have been very tired, bloated and waves of nausea. I'm team pink as well since I have my son:) how are you feeling?

I started drinking one cup of coffee a day starting at 12 weeks (when risk of miscarriage was lower). The baby is measuring normal, and with my last son I drank a cup a day. He was a normal size baby also. Just don't drink more than 2 cups. I cut myself off at 1, and if my heart rate started to go up I threw out the rest of the cup.

I had 1-2 cups per day with my son and will with this pregnancy too. With the first trimester being so exhausting, I don't think I would make it to nap time with out it!

I have always had a cup with mine. My dr said a cup is fine, just don't over do it. Never been big on soda really so if I feel the need for it I drink sprite or something with no caffeine. Much rather have my cup of coffee, well when I can tolerate it. tastes funny to me at times now :(

Personally, if not having caffeine gave me a headache, I'd take that as an indication that my body reacts quite strongly to it and I'd stay off it. I came off caffeine cold turkey before tycoon the first time around and I did have a headache for about two weeks. I went back to occassional coffees later on after LO was born but never the amount I had before because I wouldn't want the withdrawal again. You only really notice the lack of caffeine for the first couple of weeks though, so I'd just hang in there, seeing as you've stopped already.

A little caffeine is fine :) I still have 1-2 cups of tea :)

I have one cup of instant coffee a day, and occasionally have two, which is well within the recommended maximum of 200mg of caffeine a day.

I have 1-2 cups of tea and the occasional soda, i flat refused to drink caffinne free versions of things,

the risks associated with caffine are low birth weight and slow growth, and since my children have all been over 9 1/2 lbs at birth then its not really a worry for me

Yeah, I wouldn't wanna go through caffeine detox while pregnant... too hard on the body. Try to cut down slowly if you wanna cut it out for baby's sake. If not, a serving or two isn't bad and won't cause problems. :)

I've heard if you're a big, steady caffeine drinker, not having it will give you a headache - it's the withdrawal.

On the flip side, I am not a regular coffee/caffeine drinker, but I can get really bad migraines. I do not want to take the meds that I normally would so I have a cup of coffee and lay in a dark room.... in my case the caffeine really helps headaches and migraines.

Either way moderate amounts of caffeine, or so I was told, will not do harm.
