I stopped breastfeeding the twins today - feeling quite sad :(

So my beautiful boys are exactly 11 months old today. About a month ago I noticed that they're not as interested in BFing anymore - crawling, playing, the tv, toys are all much more interesting! They may suckle for about 5 mins (or 5 secs!) and then they're squirming to get down off my lap. I've held on thinking its a phase and they'll want booby again for a month now, but its not happening, so today I officially stopped BF

I gave them their last feed, together, then seperately, took some pics and I have officially closed down the "Milk Bar" (my hubby's phrasing, not mine). Feel relieved and sad all at the same time. I was never sure I'd be able to BF the twins, but I promised myself I'd try and I think I have done brillliantly, considering how hellish the first month was and I should be happy I've done it this long and I can finally have my boobs back, but it kind of feels like it's admitting they are now longer babies anymore but on their way to toddlerhood - I waaaant my babies baaaaaaaaaccckkk!!!

Weaning is so bittersweet. Great job nursing for 11 months mama!

Well done. I am now 5 weeks in and I have to admit i look at my friends 4 month old and think she looks to big to breastfeed.

Aww well done you i was the same with my amie, i had to stop breast feeding her because i couldn't physically get her to breast when she had her full body plaster cast, i missed it beyond words, seeing her little eyes look up into mine, its something only mother and child can share, you made a grear milestone with your gorgeous boys xx

Congrats on 11 months! We are getting ready to shut down the mama milk factory too. Makes me sad.

Well done for lasting 11 months I only lasted 11 days with the twins but breast fed Josh for 6 months so I know how you feel. But it will be nice getting your body back!! ))

It's been really easy to stop pain wise. Because they had cut down n BFing so much I haven't had any leaking, no engorged boobs, no pain, so I guess I gotta be thankful for that!
