I think I might be pregnant.

Approximately one week preceding my period, I forgot to take my oral contraceptive. I have since than had sex, however, my husband and I only used a condom for the..."finale".

I am now (roughly) one week late and a few days ago noticed a very light pink tinged, watery discharge only apparent when I wiped. The discharge has not appeared since that one day. (Possible implantation bleeding?)

My cycle has always been very punctual and never have I been late for a period...

Please let me know what you all think...I would be grateful to hear some personal experiences that are perhaps similar to mine and if there are any additional details I can give to help get some answers, please feel free to ask.

all you can do is take a test:) update if you can:)

Anything is possible but one week before your period would most likely mean you already ovulated. If your cycle is late you should probably take a pregnancy test.

Go buy a HPT. Since you are late for your period the test will be accurate. Good luck!

Well, up until the missed pill I had been taking my birth control as I'm supposed to, which would mean the contraceptive was doing its job and preventing me from ovulating, however, when I missed the pill my body would resume it's natural functions and initiate ovulation because it is no longer under the influence of the altered hormones...

Ok not sure what u want us to tell you except take a test? Gl

just skipping one pill can result in preg. did you just miss one?

so youre still on the pill, and havent gotten a period? i would def take a test:)

If you use a "typical" 28-day (4 week) combination birth control pill pack, you need to take 7 consecutive days of active pills in order to to prevent ovulation. You can then miss the last 7 days of the pill pack without the risk of ovulation or pregnancy (this is what occurs during the placebo/reminder pill week of a cycle: no ovulation = no egg for a sperm to fertilize = no chance of becoming pregnant). Given that the first week (week 1) of taking pills is the most critical, it is less risky to miss pills in the middle of a pack (weeks 2 and 3). The most unsafe time to forget a pill is at the beginning of the pack or at the very end. If you forget to start your next pack on time, it extends the pill-free/placebo week past 7 days.

Women who miss pills near the end of their pack may mistakenly think that it doesn't matter since they are about to have their period. Missing pills at the end of week 4 may mean that you have not taken enough pills (to have accumulated enough hormones) to stop ovulation during the next month.

I guess it's possible, but a few things I want to note. If your husband used a condom, then the likelihood of being pregnant is very slim. Also, if you're a week late for your period, implantation bleeding would likely not occur as it usually occurs 6-12 days past ovulation, and you would be approx. 21 days past ovulation. It could be you just had a very light period this month??

probably should take a test but I do know people who have taken the pill and missed their period due to the pill or would have light periods.

Do you want a baby? If so I wish you the best of luck! But also dont over think it because that can make your period late also!

My friend actually purposely goes on the pill and then doesn't take them all which makes her fall pregnant straight away! Good luck and keep us updated x

Update

So, I took a HPT this morning, it was negative. I still haven't had my period... Since the spotting occurred on 2/19 is it possible it's still too early to tell?

Yep the only thing you can do is test, Stress may postpone your period.
