    Hey everyone :hugs:

Well I think it's time for me to move over to LTTTC, If you will have me?

This month will be my 12 month of TTC. I have seen many people come and go and get their BFP's, while I am still waiting for my day.

    A little bit about me:

I came off BCP in September 2008, and this is only my 5th cycle. I have long irregular cycles due to PCOS which I was diagnosed with during an internal ultrasound after an early miscarriage during my 2nd cycle.

I have had a referral to the gynae Department at the hospital, and my first appointment is tomorrow. My doctor has mentioned Clomid, but I have no idea what to expect.

So I guess I just wanted to say hi to everyone and introduce myself as I feel I have a long road ahead.

If anybody can give me an insight as to what to expect at my referral tomorrow, I would gladly receive any info or tips that you can pass my way.

Thanks in advance for all of your help, and sorry for the long post :nope:

    xxxxxxxx:hugs:xxxxxxxxx

    Hi there

Im sad to say welcome to LTTC

At my first referral they wanted all my bloods rested and DF's SA re-done. :grr: They also booked me in for an abdo scan for the same day as my next appointment. Be prepared just in case they want you to have a smear too! xxx

Hope youre not in here for too much longer! xxxx

    Thanks for the reply girls.

Here is my update after todays hospital appointment. Sit tight, it could be a long one!

Well I arrived at my appointment early, managed to park and find where I needed to go in the hospital. I waited for about 5 mins before being called in to see the specialist.

She was lovely. Went through my history, my periods, my problems since comming off the pill. Hubby was called out on a work emergency so couldnt make it to the appointment. But the specialist went through my details and said she would look at hubbys next time

So after I told her my life history, she said that they would need to run some bloods themselves to make sure it is actually PCOS, and apparantly a scan means nothing???? It's all down to blood results.

So a little confused I went along with what she said anyway. So lucky for me I was on cd3 today. Ideal time for them to take my bloods. I was also given a blood test appointment for cd21 bloods too, so this is looking good so far, the timming couldnt be better. As hubby wasn't there, they gave me an appointment for him to drop off a semen sample next week. This way at my next appointment she will have all our information infront of her, ready for the next step She said she would take further information and notes from hubby also at the next appointment.

So just as I thought things were going great, I was told to book in my next appointment at reception - ask for next available appointment was what I was told to do. And there it was a huge slap in the face - Will January 28th be ok???????????
Whaaaaaattttttttt????? That's the next available appointment!!!!!!

Im so glad that things seem to be moving in the right directions, but January until my next appointment??

I accepted the appointment and smiled as I was told to keep trying, and you may even be phoning us to ask to cancell as you could still get pregnant were mentioned to me!

I think I will phone the department every couple of weeks after I have my cd21 bloods done, to see if they have received any cancellations that I could slot into. They will know me by my voice by January at this rate!

Sorry again for the long post, but just thought I would keep you all up to date.

    How is everyone else doing?

Glad things are moving in the right direction and well done you for arranging your appointment on CD3:rofl:

I am not surprised by the length of the appointment time, it was pretty similar at the last hospital I was treated at.

I personally think it's worth ringing them every so often to see if you can get an appointment. Good luck :hugs:

    Hiya

I managed to get a cancellation on 2 occasions. In my hospital there seem to be lots of cancellations that you can book if you keep phoning every 2-3 days.

    Good luck xxx

Thanks for the replies girls, I won't feel as bad pestering them now! ;-) Will wait for all the bloods to be taken and samples to be done first, then leave it a week to make sure that they have the results back, and then start ringing me thinks. Hopefully I will be able to get a follow up appointment then before January.

What stage are you all at?
