My wife and I have tried for almost 3 years and within that time we can honestly say that its been the most stressful time for us both. We started age 34 and 35 and unfortunately its my sperm morphology which seems to be the reason for our infertillity. I see alot of posts mainly woman explainig their angst and roller coaster emotions but I wirte this to express the difficulty for the the men in this situation...particularly when your wife of 13 years is completely fine and you are the reason why each month nothing is happening? Its such a drain on both of us mentally and you want it all to go away but its the word "hope" which drags you through it time and again...
As a man I can't begin to understand the emotions the woman experiences but its no ones fault...
I guess from my perpective I wanted to understand if there have ever been any natural pregnancies if morphology is at 3%( other results are good). As the headline indicates we hope to go through ICSI next month on 7 week protocol meaning end of April to have some result. Does anyone out there have success stories regarding ICSi with NHS and with 3% morphology...I'd love to hear something positive as I think men's emotions are not always heard on these forums and its helpful for me to get advice or positivity from other sauces...

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

As a long serving member of these boards, i have seen many success stories of couples with morphology issues, and ICSI is great in the way it ensures the strongest sperm to inject into the eggs. You and your wife have a great chance of success :)

I know how hard it is for men with fertility issues as i have been on both sides of the coin. With my past relationship it was my then partner that could not have children due to such a low sperm count and i could have children at that time. It really destroyed him and we actually split up due to the fact he would not accept or talk about it.

Fast forward a few years an it is now me that is infertile and my hubby is fine. I often feel like a failure and that i have let my husband down as i know what a great father he would make. I have no fallopian tubes due to 2 ectopic pregnancies within 6mths of us getting married so we have had a rough ride too and i understand how upsetting this is.

We start our 3rd cycle of IVF next mth and this time they are doing ICSI due to my poor egg quality so praying this is 3rd time lucky for us.

Lots of luck to you an your wife and she is very lucky to have such a caring hubby that you posted on here. My hubby struggles to communicate during emotional times so good that you are able to talk xxx

Just wanted to say good luck. We used ICSI in our IVF cycle and now have five frozen embryos waiting to come back to us. (actually having two put back in today)

Thanks for the feedback...I hope ICSI works but its in the lap of the gods so have to see. ... first step is to get this moving forward then deal with the outcome afterwards...thinking too far ahead can lead to us both going absolutely mad:)

so fingers/toes everything crossed !
