Hi ladies,

Our plum trees have yielded loadsa plums, and I'm trying to come up with lots of different recipes!

I've got sugar free(ish) jams on the go - but other than tarte tatin, crumble, compote, stewed, cake...am out of options!

Can you think of anymore baby friendly and exciting things to do with plums?!

I want to try something brand new and exciting! :D

Only thing I can think of is yogurt but thats probably because i realy fancy one at the moment :)

plum cobbler. not exactly exciting but it should be fairly baby-friendly :)

Plum dumplings? Plum butter (might be too much sugar, but yum!), plum sorbet, dehydrated/sun dried plums (could then be used in cookies or muffins)...I'm not sure what else. Ronan loves them fresh!

Oh, I have to admit that I thought of plum brandy, then remembered the baby friendly bit!

DD has plum compote in yoghurt - so do DH and I, it's lovely!

Plum cobbler - will try that, thank you :D
HC - love the idea of dumplings and sorbet...and had never thought of drying them! Fab!

Oh, and we've made plum wine...my best friend refuses to ever drink it again after what she calls 'her silliest night ever' a couple of summers ago. She was very merry - her OH and my DH steered clear of it, as DH thinks my 'brew' was probably about 100% proof

I'd try some (and make sure I have plenty of ebm for the monkey while i slept it off)! :haha:

it's definitely one for EBM!!

I've got various potions (DH refers to them as Witches Brew!) - the potato vodka was the worst (both taste and potency...) but Sloe Gin is ok. I love the taste of the wines, it's just they leave everyone completely floored!!

I think if I even sniffed one now, I'd be asleep!

Oh you should definitely try some kind of plum infused mead!

Oooh, that would be nice. *tootles off to find a recipe*

My mum cuts them in half and bakes them in the oven with butter and brown sugar, then serves them on toast with all the buttery, sugary juice soaking into it.

This sounds utterly gorgeous

*hurries off to buy some plums*

I am SOOOOOOOOOO doing that, delicious!

Eala, wish I could send you some! The bloomin' late wasps are all over the place...

Such a shame! I'll just need to come visit for some plums the next time I'm down that way

(Which is actually next week, if Bucks is anywhere near the New Forest  I know we're going via High Wycombe! :p Yes, my English geography is terrible!)
