If everyone hated your name for baby would you change it?

Hi i have a main name i like but 99% of people i told it hate it, so i am wondering if i should re look and find something people like?

i wanted HUDSON but everyone has bad things to say on it lol, no one liked my other sons name neither which is DANE but i wasnt bothered back then if people liked it or not but feel very aware that everyone hates this name lol

i always got comments like "oh no u shoudl give him a normal name" it really pissed me off, zane is actualy a very old english name. but now hes here and called zane most ppl really like it apart from afew odd looks

I wouldnt change it unless they pointed out it meant something rude or rhymed with something really bad i hadnt thought of they would be the only reasons .

The name we've picked if we have a boy, we've had 2 close members of our family say they don't like it (for different reasons)

I was disappointed as it was the one name we both really like. Was speaking to my dad about it and he said "Why do you ask people? You should keep the name to yourselves and just tell people ____ is baby's name, don't ask their permission, you can't please everyone!" And I think he's right, at the end of the day we love the name and it's our child so we're sticking with that name and have given up "asking opinions" on it tbh. It's no-ones business but yours what you decide to call your baby

We don't tell anyone the name we've chosen until baby is here and named. It's harder for them to criticize it that way.

I think it depends on the reasons - I went off one name because there was a particularly nasty story all over the news about someone with that name.

We didn't tell people our LO's name until he turned up, and my mum wasn't a fan. I just laughed and said it was a good job it wasn't her baby then - and its grown on her since

Huh?? Zane, Hudson, and Dane are not only awesome names but seem like very "normal" names!! Now a name like Gladiator or something is a little odd but even then if it's not my baby then it's not really my place to be so rude!! I love Hudson!!! You birth your baby, you raise and support your baby......well then, you name your baby.

Everyone on both side of my family hate the name Lilith. We've just told them to get stuffed, our children aren't theirs to name. My OH doesn't like people shortening it, which is a fair point, he's told everyone not to call her Lily. I know a few people will but I'm leaving that in my OH's hands. His mum will call her Lily and he's more able to tell his mum to get stuffed than I am lol.

ds2 was supposed to be Arthur but EVERYONE hated it, my mum went on and on...... DH mum also said she hated it so that was it... We called him William (which I love) and if he had lived we would have nn him Billy... Part of me does wish though I had stuck with Arthur.

If you really like the name they will get used to it - my friends little girl is Eden which when I first heard it I was not sure if I liked it but I love it now! and it so suits her.

Its your Baby and I dont think anyone has a Right to say that they dont like it. Alot of people in my family didnt like how I was spelling Jaymees name but I didnt care and spelled it How I wanted it. As for this Time NO one in my family Likes the name Zayden but I really dont care if I have a Boy his name will be Zayden if I get approval or not they dont like it too bad for them
