If I don't get my ass in gear I am going to be the 'big bridesmaid' :(

Another baby weight moan coming.... :haha:

I am a bridesmaid for my friend at the end of July and really looking forward to it.

My only reservation is my weight. I put on 3 stone in pregnancy. I was size 12/14 when I got pregnant and went up to a 16/18 which I know isn't exactly massive, but it made me feel crap. My baby was 10 lbs 3oz and I had a c-section so I have that 'apron' on my belly.

I have lost 2 and a half stone of it and a size 14/16 with the pull in pants ( ), but even with losing that other half a stone, I am still going to be the 'big bridesmaid' as the other 2 bridesmaids are size 10s and tiny! the bride is a 8. I am not usually too self-conscious about my weight but I just wish at least one of them was even slightly nearer to my size so it's not as big a difference. One of the other bridesmaids even had a baby in November there and went straight back down to a 10 within a fortnight of giving birth (bitch, lol). It was brought home to me at the weekend as the bridesmaid dresses were ordered online. Theirs were a 10 and mine was a 16!

I am exercising like mad and watching what I eat. Got 5 months to do it so feel confident that I'll have the time to do it and will manage to get down a bit. Just not fair, lol. Don't want to be the 'big one'. (I'm not saying size 14 is by any means big, I just mean compared to the other 2!)

Have you Heard of the 5/2 diet or fasting diet? It seems to be the new craze going on but reading into the gist of it, it has some health benefits so not quite the same as doing the Atkins etc....

I did it for 2 weeks and lost 5lb but then crashed as my period came and it turns me into a food monster!!It was hard but if you do the 5/2 it's only 2 days of fasting out of the week. Look it up on google for more info but it definatly worked in that 2 weeks I managed.

I am going to be in the same situation this july also. My sister is getting married and has three bridesmaids including me. My sister is a size 8 her one friend is 6 the other a 10 and im a size 18-20 at the moment. I did get down to almost a size 16 but gave up and put weight back on plus a bit more :( i am trying to lose as much as i can before the wedding and my bridesmaid dress is an 18. Im hoping ill have to have it taken in but if for some reason i dont lose weight i am going to tell her i cant do it. The embarassment for me would be too much.

Thanks for telling me about this diet, I'd never heard of it. I might give it a go x

It is a horrible feeling isn't it when the rest are all smaller, but good luck, hope you lose the amount you want to for your sisters wedding.

Btw, something I have been trying to do and it is working a little bit to give me motivation. Do you have an exercise machine in your house at all? (If not you could hire one if you can afford it, or go to a gym and use one, or even just go for long walks or out running). I have a rowing machine (it's my OH's but I use it), and I have been hanging a photo of the dress in front of me when I am using it and visualising the dress is a size 10/12. If you have access to machine, or even go for walks or running and take the photo of the dress with you to look at and imagine it in the size you want to be in it, it might help with motivation? x

Last time i lost weight i used my wii and wii fit board so may do that again. I actually bought a dress ina size 12 that i want to wear to a party at xmas this year so that is also my motivation. And ive had a quic google and may give that fasting diet a go as some days i dont eat till dinner time anyway. Good luck hun we can do it xxx
