My LO is 8 months. For a past month i felt so tired of staying at home, not working etc. So i've asked my boss to let me work part-time...so now for past 3 days i've come back to work, actually i'm giving a try to see how i can cope with work after sleepless night, day without LO etc. I've asked my MIL to come over and stay with LO when i work... ( just to add my MIL is a HARD person but i have no one else )
So, the first day was ok, second i get bad feeling about leaving LO, now i'm so jelaous! that I could loose first step of my baby. Yesterday, when i get back home, MIL started to saying how he's trying to stay without holding anything and he'll be walking soon! I almost get furious! Me, not seeing my baby first step???!!! Now, i can't wait my trial ends! I don't want to go to work!!!!I knowhe probably won't walk so soon but i feel jelaous just thinking that she stays with him not me

:hugs: The good thing is that it's proved to you that you don't want to go back - if you'd decided without trying it, you might always have been wondering.

How long is your trial?

I do think occasionally grannies kind of imagine babies are doing things that they aren't quite doing yet though, if it's any consolation - I've seen my mum do it with LO! So hopefully you won't miss anything just yet.

I was gutted when my mum and dad were looking after LO for a couple of hours and she rolled front to back for the first time :(

Oh, it's just 9 days split into 3 days per week.
Right, i thought i will feel much better and more active with LO but it's not true! I'm getting home soooo tired and trying to play with him for 2h i have before he goes to sleep. But tbh i just dream to go to bed. So at the end of the day i've tried it and prefer to stay with my little monkey :d
About grannys, yep, you are right they like to exagerate what they see... And think it's time. Like my MIL always says my OH started to talk at 6 months LOL or other things..

I work full time and I love being back at work. I've been home for all my baby's firsts so far. I think he likes to wait until I'm around in the evening or on the weekends to try new things.

Maybe just ask your MIL to not tell you if he does do something new, but maybe to phrase it so that he 'almost' did something, so that when he then does do it in front of you, as far as you know it is in fact the first time. I know of many childminders that do this for parents, so that the parents don't feel they have missed out on something

i hate being back at work.. miss my little boy so much! I missed him pulling himself up to standing on his own, but fortunately the nursery was nice enough to take some pictures of it, and then printed them out :)

Oh believe she wouldn't let go an occasion like that! She's a real example of MIL ...
