so as you know ive left work for nearly 2 weeks, and i just checked my bank and i have spent £330!!!!!!!!
on nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i knew i had spent a bit becuase i was cooking big meals everyday but i didnt realise that much :(
im so angry at myself, im normally so good with money and im meant to be saving for the baby. £330 wasted on junk food!
so so angry at myself :growlmad::growlmad::growlmad:

Its sooo easy done !!!

Atr least you checked now and not a few weeks later.

Food costs a blooody fortune !!! xxx

It is crazy, I have to keep a really close eye on my money, dh had an injury and had to stop work because of it, I was looking after our dd who was just 4 months old when it happened, and he was in a pretty well paid job, that to sick pay to benefits hit us pretty hard!!
I looked through my weekly food shop because i was going to tesco every day for little bits and pieces and spent £160 in one week on food alone!!:dohh:
So we now go once a week do one huge shop and I am banned from tesco the rest of the time, it works so i keep it up! (another way is to do it online so you dont get your head turned by 'bargains' ie things you never usually buy!!)
My children are moving schools in September which will save me £50 a week in fuel so hoping by time baby comes along i will have some extra to do nice things with, mainly baby clothes i think!!

I said i would give my debit card to dh during the week and use the bit of cash if i need something! I just cant part with it though...just in case!!

:hugs:

omg that is alot!
but it must of been enjoyable meals and nice food in the house:D
maybe go to the bargain shops like asda, tesco or sainsburys to help u save if u didnt already lol x

thats exactly what ive done! going to tescos everyday and buying and cooking a big dinner and pudding from scratch. i just told OH he said not to worry but not to let it happen again, we are making a shopping list and planning meals now. no more spending for our family!!!

I was heartbroke today too, I had to get some new maternity pants because the ones I have just don't fit anymore, and for 2 pairs of jeans and 1 shirt it was a little over $100!!! SERIOUSLY!!! But I guess it may have been worth the money bc I got them to where I can where them the rest of the pregnancy (they had those pillows you strap around you thats the size of a 3 month bump, so I put that on top of my 6 month bump and could still fit them good, lol) But, our budgeting is going back strict just as soon as I order her travel system! (tomorrow!)

this has been happening to me too, i cant believe how easy it is to waste money on junk food :(

We spent £150 in Asda yesterday but i'm hoping the food we did get will last us the month. I mean there are only 2 of us. What did it for me was buying more fruit and veg. The price of that has gone up so much! They want us to eat more healthy food but they don't tell you about the cost of it! xxx

i have to use a grocery list or i buy stuff we don't need or stuff that doesn't make sense. one time i spent 100 dollars and came home with nothing to eat and had to go back to the store the next day. i've gotten fairly good at making meal plans and we only spend $80 a week on food and diapers.
