I'm late!!

By 4 days now, which is not usual for me, how long should I wait before I do a test because I'm so excited at the moment I can't wait much longer.We didn't go about it in the conventional way a friend donated and my girlfriend used the syringe(obviously without needle) method,we worked out my ovulation days and tried a day before,on the day and a day after.Should I be feeling anything else if I am yet?, sorry for the questions I'm just super excited.
