Abigail got her first injections today. OMG it was so much worse than I thought it was gonna be. She really wailed bless her, and the second one seems so mean when they are already so upset. She has been really off it today, very clingy and cries whenever she wakes up. Also not really interested in food - just wants to sleep. Her temp was a bit raised which I think has given her a heat rash. I've kept her cool all day, so its a bit better now. But with all the naps she's later for her feed - should I wake her? Do others use calpol after their injections? I don't think I was prepared for it being this hard. Feel pretty upset really

Huge hugs hun xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Maybe calpol would be a good idea if she has a temperature and under the weather. Hope she feels better soon, and u do too x

:hugs: :hugs: :hugs: I know how you feel, I felt awful for my LO too

Paige was exactly the same after her first ones, I just fed her at her usual times and she took what she wanted then went back to sleep. I just comforted her when she needed me to and after 2 days she was back to her cheeky self  You could try calpol if her temp is high, cant hurt :winkwink:

I was scared of taking her for her 2nd and 3rd ones but she was fine after those ones, no temp, feeding fine and no where near as sleepy as the first lot.

Hope your LO (and you) feel better soon :baby:

aw thanks guys, its been an emotional day! Made my oh go get some calpol so I have it ready if she can't settle tonight. She is sleeping now though after a good feed at 6. So feeling alittle better  Hope she does do better at the next ones, cos I'm already dreading it!

It's upsetting isn't it :hugs: we gave Jayden calpol on the first night just incase, he went off his milk abit (VERY unusual for him hehe) and was very sleepy for a couple of days. xxx

My lo had hers today too and it was heart breaking as she was asleep when we got there and woke when she was injected crying. A few hours after we got home she was crying and screaming so after much deliberation i gave her calpol then spent rest of afternoon worrying whether i should have given it to her. Is seemed to help though as she hasn't been crying like that since. Just the usual hungry cry rather than a heart breaking one

Aw hun sorry :( The first are def the worst (and she might be up all nigh too) but the next ones (for us) made no difference. Just do what you can to get through it and she'll be fine soon.

Her temp went quite high last night so ended up having to give her some calpol. She was so good all night, but I was so worried. I like our HV but wish she had prepared me more and at least suggested some calpol. Its all very well to say give me a call but babies don't really keep to office hours do they! Thanks for the comments and suggestions ladies. :hugs:Gonna keep an eye on her today as her temp was still alittle raised this morning.

I gave Rylan one 2.5ml dose of calpol straight away after them as the nurse told me to do this just once even if he didnt have a temp and his temp was fine. He was really crabby for a good few days after though. Got his second ones in a couple of weeks and im not looking forward to them and will have the one dose of calpol on the ready. xxx

my LO slept nearly all day after having his first shots and had a slightly raised temp, i kept him cool and didnt need to open the calpol stuff.

they did all 3 of his injections at the same time 2 in one thigh and 1 in the other. 3 nurses did it. he did a slight yelp then they gave him the oral stuff before he could start crying, and after that he didnt fuss or anything. second set on monday. hubbys going to take him in because i wanted to knock the doctor out for making my baby hurt last time.

violet turned violet with her jabs, she was smiling away then they jabbed her and she screamed and almost forgot to breath, she was fine after though... phew.

Not looking forward to the next set
