Hi All

I have gone into labour and planning on having a home birth - our minds have gone blank though as to what time we need to call ambulance control!!

Can anyone let us know how many minutes apart the contractions should be?

Cheers!

Hey! Congratulations!

When ever you feel you want to - it doesn't really matter about being too early if you are calling out a MW to home. You can always ask them to leave and come back.

You could have two ladies with the same contractions - i.e something like 3 in every 10 min lasting for about a min long - but one will be days and the other could be immenent. Contractions are only part of the indicators.

Trust your instincts.

Have a brilliant birth

Hi

I rang the midwives when my contractions were about every 5 minutes apart as I felt I wanted to be checked out and hubby was panicking a bit about not having anyone there. Baby was born 1hr 30 minutes later.

Whenever you feel you want the support or to be looked over give them a ring.

Lots of luck, I hope you have a great time.

xx

Thanks girls - they were going from around 7 minutes and then didn't have one for half an hour! They are back to around 9 minutes now...Think I might go to bed.

I hope I have her tomorrow - my son was born 11/11 so being born on 6/6 would be cool!

I was told to phone the midwife at when I got to every 6 minutes, good luck! xx
