I am from India and my mom told me that all pregnant women get 3 protection shots( tetatnus shots) in month 5,6,7 to benefit both mom and baby.

Do any of you know anything abt this?

Is there an Indian mom here who had earlier discussed this their midwife or consultant? How did it go?

Our immune systems are quite different to the women here and may be we shd get it? Any idea/opinions?

Can I please ask you to talk to your midwife/consultant and post the responses?

Thanks a bunch

I imagine it's to protect from certain diseases prevalent in India, but not in the UK?

We don't get any shots like that as we've been vacinated already as children/teens usually.

I've had all the shots before as well and most recently got a tetatnus shot in UK as a precaution in the ER after a dog bit me!
Wonder if I have to get one!...

I currently live in India and have been told the same thing. I am only 14 weeks and they wanted me to get Tetanus shot but I am not gonna take any vaccination during pregnancy. I am sure they can't force us. Did you get yours?
